In fact, respectfully, our blog community can argue with this contention about the effectiveness of KC NoVa . . .
- After the election lead up year of strange climate patterns, 2015 was exceptionally violent and Kansas City earned national recognition for a homicide spike.
- In 2016 there is currently a 37% increase in homicides two years running.
- With up to 53 homicides unofficially compared to 37 at this time last year, right now there have been more homicides in Kansas City than at any time in the past five years for this calendar date.
Don't get it twisted, we realize KCPD confronts an EPIC struggle this year amid staff reductions thanks to City Hall budget tinkering.
And so, if we're going to crunch numbers than one statistic from two years ago clearly doe not provide the whole picture.

ReplyDeleteAsk Mike Mansur why he personally scaled back the biggest, targeted crime sweep in history a couple of weeks back. Ask why the previous NOVA commander (6 months) was transferred out of the unit. Ask how many referrals to the social network have taken place AFTER NOVA call ins. (They can't provide it because it doesn't exist) NO statistical information exists whatsoever. NOVA is a joke, its ineffective and its a cover up for the prosecutors office to continue to do nothing to reduce/prevent black on black crime. Nothing.

Meanwhile, Uhal has seen an uptick in business with folks looking for greener padtures. KCNova hasn't done anything to retain residents in Kansas City. People know better. Theyll lice in a two bedroom apartment with ten prople just to escape the hood. They wont talk about that on the news, though. In the Baton Rouge video you can't see what the guys right arm is doing. Maybe he was going for a gun, maybe he wasn't. All I know is I've never resisted arrest or cops directions and here I am alive and well today. And yes, I've had my run-ins with cops but it's amazing what some respect and civility will get you. There is a reason black people are targeted by cops, it's because they deserve it. God knows they've earned it.

ReplyDeleteMajor McHale is a punk. He talked the Chief into creating NOVA and got promoted to Major for the concept . Then when NOVA didn't work out he asked to be transferred. So the Chief gave him the new East Patrol!!
