TKC MUST READ!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY'S DEVELOPMENT AGENDA CRASHES AND BURNS DESPITE RENEWED SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT DOUBLE DOWN!!!

Kansas City Mayor Sly is running into intense opposition as he transitions into a lame duck and more people move to compete for his job.

To wit . . .

CHECK THESE DOUBLE TAP QUOTES AGAINST MAYOR SLY AND HIS CONTINUED NEW KCI AIRPORT PUSH!!!

With very little reaction that wasn't bought and paid for . . . The Sunday newspaper new airport push didn't really resonate with anybody but the old school civic crowd. However, a noteworthy fact check has emerged.

Check the first part . . .

"Most of the local media are publishing or reporting clips on the mayor’s move to get the local business community to carry the ball for him on his single terminal airport plan. This is what ineffective leaders do when they can no longer lead successfully. They pass the obligation on to someone else so when it fails, they are not responsible. Jolie Justus is leading the single terminal fight for the mayor at city hall. She will not be reelected if she continues to push this and other projects for special interests, which are against the voters wishes . . ."

The warning to the Council Lady is stern but the reality is that her supporters are already trying to convince Council Lady Justus that she can leapfrog and become Kansas City's 1st openly gay Mayor.

Back to the sordid subject of a new MCI and the Mayor's agenda . . .

CHECK THE BODY COUNT ON MAYOR SLY'S AGENDA AND HIS RECENT STRING OF FAILURES TO BRING HOME THE BACON FOR HIS BUDDIES!!!

Here's the word . . .

"Let’s look at the some of the mayor’s recent undertakings: First there was the first Streetcar Extension, the push for GOP Convention, Downtown Hyatt Hotel, the Single Terminal Airport and finally Kansas City’s effort to get the $50,000,000 Smart City Grant. All have failed at this point in time. The mayor has been spending an inordinate amount of time in Washington, D.C. while the police department has been gutted and crime is running wild in the city. He’s been delegating responsibilities since he is absent so much of the time. Now we sense the local business community is distancing themselves from our mayor . . ."

As we noted previously . . . Polling that the Mayor noted previously not only reveals that nobody wants the new airport but also that the Mayor's popularity is slipping and it's doubtful that he could be anybody but the homeless guy he ran against last time around.

For now, READ THE CFRG IN ITS ENTIRETY and realize the Mayor is only as "likable" among his  "friends" as the NEXT favor he can deliver.

Developing . . .

  1. I think the Mayor has his heart in the right place and he THINKS he is doing the best thing for KC but the fact is that we need more support for police and neighborhoods not for developers and their big plans. That is the reality that should be apparent this Summer.

  2. Jolie Justus as the next mayor will tear KC apart, she doesn't have the experience to do the job. That would be the worst thing KC could possibly do.

    So I'm sure she'll win.

  3. Mayor = Crash & burn
If it weren't for people he paid to be his friends, he'd have none at all.

  4. You can't build a house or much of anything else without a foundation and Sly's Rube Goldberg dreams built on mostly grandiose announcements, hot air, and hype have been collapsing for quite a while now.
Real leadership is based on common sense, trust, competence, establishing appropriate priorities, and telling the public the truth.
Sly and most of the council over the years have no appreciation or understanding of municipal public policy, nor do they show much interest in it. Basics like public safety, water and sewer systems, and well-maintained streets bore them, even though they are critical services of great importance to the majority of city residents, businesses, and visitors.
Antics like the clever use of statutes to circumvent public opinion to satisfy small interest groups, insiders, and campaign contributors only erode what little trust there is in KCMO government.
Confusing building things with progress only accelerates the lack of trust, particularly when the great majority of projects are subsidized in one way or another by the taxpayers. And further trying to hide what's really going on by having obscure agencies like the Port Authority, PIEA, or others makes matters much worse.
Sly enjoys the PR parts of being mayor and has spent lots of time and efforts tooting his own horn, particularly in DC where he'd clearly like to end up.
But at the end of the day, facts, reality, and arithmetic win and the many turkeys initiated by this administration are beginning to come home to roost.
The music is about to stop.
Sly needs to look for a chair.

  5. The Mayor is a grocery store clerk, he does what he's told. You want to know the real problem? Look at the law firms and who they represent.

  6. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
    It never changes.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Anyone who knows anything at all about basic leadership or management knows that you can't "delegate responsibilities". You delegate authority.
In the Navy, if the ship runs aground in the middle of the night, even though the captain may be off the bridge and in his stateroom asleep, he's relieved of command.
Sly and most of the other council members think they can delegate away pretty much everything that has to do with city government so that they're free to celebrate their own perceived celebrity, attend endless forums and ribbon-cuttings, travel around the country and abroad at taxpayer expense, look out for insiders and supporters by channeling projects and funding their way, play at partisan politics and work on what they're planning to run for next, and otherwise ignore even the most basic oversight responsibilities they have for the management of city government.
Contracting out your job doesn't work unless your bosses, in this case the voters, either don't pay much attention to results or have just plain given up.
The low turnouts in elections would indicate they've done both.

  8. The time Mr. Sly spends in DC is time spent forging relationships with DC insiders. Mr. Sly is continuing to lay the groundwork for his next job, Congress.
Stop snorting. He never wanted to be Mayor of our small city. He thinks big.
That leaves us with his small efforts and huge problems of neighborhood crime, neighborhood infrastructure in disrepair, neighborhoods with abandoned houses. Schools that are screwed up.
    Shameless.

  10. Well sounds like Uhaul is gonna have a run on trucks if y'all move away like you should!

The city seems pretty safe if you stay away from the niggers. But those feral savages can kill each other off and no one really cares. The only thing us humans care about is that they speed it up a little. We can't pay for their niggershines forever.

  14. It's sad that Justus might be mayor. Her only "qualification" is being gay. Not a single person would consider her if she wasn't. This is Obama-type liberalism repeated and the exact opposite of MLK. Elect someone because they represent a special interest and minority and it makes you feel not racist...not because they are qualified.

  15. There are big security concerns with the way kci I set up even tho it is more convenient this way. Hopefully a big attack won't happen before the new airport comes along, but they won't focus on that.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anyone attacking KCI would likely be doing the world a favor given what a crappy airport it is. Wasting another billion wont change things until we change the culture and mind set of the city commission. That wont happen until white working people learn how to vote.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ^^^^^I do a lot of international travel and am always happy to come home to MCI. Perhaps MCI is only "crappy" relative to the Coffeyville or Lincoln, Nebraska airports.

    ReplyDelete
  18. traveling this summer to supposedly well-designed, new airports, kci is superior for traveler convenience. an overwhelming majority of my road warrior, sophisticated flyer friends are of the same opinion.

but some renovations are needed, so i hope they get real and do them.

for example, inadequate bathrooms behind security seem intended to make travelers say, oh we need larger bathrooms so let's spend a billion-plus on a whole new airport.

  19. at this point, id settle for seeing less of his greezy mug, holding court a press conference, in a selfie,in the paper aka the propaganda arm of the mayors office, sly and his ass kissing assistants, his glamour pet projects, his crowing and bellowing, its a fuckin joke, str8 outta montgall, he probably hasnt been back there since he left, and who would want to, kcmo is a shelled out joke, surprised we havent had a flint mi like crisis with the incompetence asleep at the wheel, eyes on the pie in the sky feel good dream chasing clowns. i do see alot of const work, but that seems like its been a long time coming, theyre finally getting to the a tiny amount of blight and infrastructure after years of neglect. reality check, mayor cant help black dysfunction, thats a worldwide disease, these 200 mil glam projects, while the average person in kansas city missoui city limits are mostly failing, and couldnt suffer a 400 dollar bill.
