SHOCK!!! TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY POLICE ROUNDUP TEEN GANG NEAR HYDE PARK AMID EPIC STANDOFF CRACKDOWN AFTER SPATE OF VIOLENT ROBBERIES!!!
Our blog community was talking about violence near this area yesterday morning and now MAINSTREAM MEDIA CONFIRM A CRACKDOWN ON A GANG OF TEENS ROUNDED UP within walking distance of Hyde Park.
Lots of social media chatter regarding a police sirens, armored vehicles and helicopters overnight. Check one of the first reports to follow TKC's BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE NEWS yesterday:
NBC Action News: A police standoff with six juveniles near 37th and Warwick in KCMO is over. Officials say the juveniles were going around committing street robberies in the area . . . Police say 11 people were in the apartment during the standoff. Six juveniles have been taken into custody.
This is actually good news for Memorial Day Monday as the roundup was inspired by a tip from the community and there are no reports of injury in this crackdown. Still the impulse to deny this problem and the versatile nature of violent teen flash mobs remains a weakness among some denizens of the local discourse.

This is about a two block walk from Hyde park and it's about time that KC takes a stand against crime.
KCPD didn't take care of it. It happened. They showed up after the fact...like in every situation. The find a dead person - they didnt prevent the death. That would be taking care. That is not what they did. You are a gulliable.
DeleteI didn't know tom cruise's movie "minority report" was based on a true story.. man I think it would be awesome if cops had some claravoyent power to arrest someone BEFORE they commit a crime. It would also take away the need for people to call 911. Consequences of laws are based on a punishment AFTER the law is broken. Sounds like you believe in the philosophy of needing more cops since more cops would help deter more crimes or be available to come to the aid quicker.. but what do I know.

There are some people who are working to make KC a better place. We must highlight their efforts too.

Quit pushing them out of the city because they're not adults and invite them in with things to get involved in that are positive instead of making them feel like they have to lash out. ReplyDeletePopeyes biscuits to be exact. Like most, I'm a creature of habit. When I visit my local Popeyes for some chicken and the best fast food biscuits money can buy, I'm always greeted with the same dysfunction without fail. You see it is a black managed store with at least 9 out of 10 employees also black. The "cook" has long dreads tucked under his hat. The girls that work there seem to start the lunch shift on break. One in the parking lot talking to "her man" while another is eating chicken next to me, headphones in, jamming to some (c)rap music I'm sure. The drive thru girl and the the others filling get orders can't seem to keep up. Numerous cars are pulling around front waiting for the rest of their lunch order to be fulfilled.
The black female manager who is always at the register is equally incompetent. She can't keep up either, but then again, I don't see much effort from anyone. They don't care and they don't care that you know they don't care. So every week or two, I come in and order my lunch. I always order an extra biscuit and it would seem, I always order it with the same black manager. I kid you not, for the last 2 years, she takes my order, puts one biscuit on my tray and hands it to me. Every single time without fail ! I have to ask her every time can I please have my extra biscuit ! Every time ! She turns around, grabs the tongs and like a robot or a zombie, returns with the second biscuit.
My point is that blacks seem to "space out" or have little to no retention capabilities. She forgets every time. Meanwhile, the white batistaS at Starbucks remember what shape your poop was a year and a Tuesday ago. Damn, I wish I didn't love those biscuits so much, I'd never return.

Young black male fry cook getting off shift, complaining about his work. Middle-aged black woman manager surrounded by 6 to 8 black high school girls, of whom maybe 2 are actually working and functional. I'm standing in line behind frustrated customers who didn't get their correct order. I'm debating whether to just leave before ordering, as I hate dealing with incompetence. I stay that day as I'm hungry, but I did end up totally abandoning Popeye's as I don't want to enable their best efforts to fail.
