THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KANSAS CITY COMMUNITY OUTRAGE OVER DEAD TREE MEDIA OPPOSITION TO LOCAL CIVIL RIGHTS LEADER LEON JORDAN PETITION FOR EAST PATROL TRIBUTE!!!
Once again The Kansas City Star has proven itself completely out of touch with local neighborhoods and their leaders.
To wit . . .
TODAY WE'RE HEARING MORE THAN A BIT OF OUTRAGE OVER THE KANSAS CITY STAR PLAYING POLITICS WITH EAST PATROL TRIBUTE TO SLAIN CIVIL RIGHTS LEADER LEON JORDAN!!!
Here's the offending editorial:
KC Star: Don’t rename Kansas City Police Department’s East Patrol Division
Sadly, the editorial damages Mayor Sly's East Side credibility again with a quote and reference tied up in a tragic bit of minutiae with little consideration of public support.
"Over the decades, no other city police station has taken on the name of a historic figure. As Mayor Sly James said in an interview this week, “We need to have some uniformity when it comes to these kinds of buildings.” He correctly doesn’t want to set off a rush to rename other stations."
Then the editorial cites an exceptionally flimsy argument that shows a total ignorance of Kansas City history:
"Jordan was slain in 1970 near a lounge on Prospect Avenue. The Police Department in recent years identified the gunman as an organized crime figure. The Star has reported that Jordan’s associations with organized crime figures likely contributed to his death — a legitimate obstacle to naming a police building after him."
REALLY?!?! THIS ELITIST AND DISCRIMINATORY PASSAGE REVEALS THE STAR OVERLOOKING THE FACT THAT KANSAS CITY'S MOST CELEBRATED POLITICAL FIGURES HAVEN BEEN CONNECTED TO THE MOB!!!
Just one of many examples, here's Harry Truman posing with his pal and Irish mob boss Tom Pendergast . . .
One insider puts it perfectly . . .
"This is the Star showing that they're out of touch and completely oblivious what the community wants. What's worse is that they're not even getting their facts straight. Leon Jordan stood up to the mob and worked to create community control in Black neighborhoods. That's part of what got him killed. A fight with Frank Mazzuca in Jeff City is one the many conflicts Jordan ran into with organized crime that ultimately led to his demise. This is a Star hit piece that has Yael's fingerprints all over it and it makes the Mayor look horrible for going along with it."
Now, we've talked to Freedom, Inc. insiders about this one and they seem flummoxed that The Star didn't reach out to them for comment. The community theory is that this editorial might be part of the ongoing Star and Mayor James opposition to Freedom, Inc. and a way to thwart the group's political resurgence.
One Freedom, Inc. Insider says: "This is so petty, so misinformed and myopic that I don't doubt it's politically motivated. People need to do their research about Leon Jordan and realize that his legacy extends beyond Kansas City and he really was a pioneering African-American leader. The part about mob ties a typical smear and doesn't stand to scrutiny given the confirmed and more blatant mob ties of H. Roe Bartle and Harry Truman. It's just more discriminatory coverage for The Star that we've come to expect."
The good news is that PETITIONS TO NAME EAST PATROL AFTER LEON JORDAN HAVE BEEN REIGNITED BY THIS MISGUIDED KC STAR EDITORIAL and soon the Mayor and Council will be forced to vote on the topic.
And all of this inspires tonight's playlist.
As always, thank you for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
Harry Truman was "the Senator from Pendergast"
ReplyDeleteLet dead men lie. Nobody is in favor of this except a meager handful of self-important grifters. If he was so pioneering, name a museum after him. There's no reason to disturb a police facility for this nonsense.
ReplyDeletePioneering as in what? What exactly did he pioneer? Don't you just love broad statements that say absolutely nothing?
ReplyDeleteI say we name it The Whizzo Station. Bunch of clowns running the dept and city so it is very fitting. Whizzo was a very popular name for many years in the media of this town so lets name it after someone who was really popular and was loved by must all.
ReplyDeleteHow about naming some city building after Pendergast. His concrete built many of them.
ReplyDeleteI am sick of naming public places after people. Take the Paseo bridge for example. Why call it the Kit Bond bridge? This guy is disliked my most people in the community. Let's call the police station, the police station.
ReplyDeleteSly and the KC Star right on target for once.
ReplyDeleteLets quit bullshitting, please, please, lets rename Kansas City Louis Farrakahnville.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it, we will all live in Detroit.
Name it after Roderick Nunnelly.
ReplyDeleteI would be in favor of Rodrick Nunnley.
ReplyDeleteI am jackin my cock so hard while reading how brain dead the American public is when it comes to grifting cash out of tax payers who actually work for living in the private sector.
ReplyDeleteWhen they were going to execute Nunnelly in the early 2000s, I was sure that Barb Shelly was fingering herself while she was writing a column about what a tragedy that would be. Just about everyone on the Star is secretly hot for taking some crooks load.
ReplyDeleteGimme a break. What percentage of black people could name Leon Jordan? I bet it's less than one percent.
ReplyDeleteNow if they called it Air Jordan, 100%.
ReplyDelete^This guy right here... LMAO (but true)
ReplyDeleteFreedom Inc has raped and pillaged the Black community for nearly 50 years. If we are renaming the building to show Black domination over a clueless people who will never be free because their constantly looking for leadership, then maybe Leon Jordan sufficiently shows his worth to have a military barracks named in his likeness. If Black people were truly free and recognized themselves as such, they'd choose to leave off any name association with oppression be it White or Black led. Something is amiss when Black people cannot see their own freedom. Its time to embrace your citizenship and act in accordance with the rules. Let the oppressors properly fade into oblivion where they belong. Let's stop trying resurrecting the dead and make them something they were not in life.
ReplyDeleteSly = sellout, plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteBREAKING!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHarry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum to be renamed....
The 33rd President of the United States Presidential Library and Museum
Truman State University issues declaration clarifying that their 1995 name change from Northeast Missouri State to Truman State was a nod to the movie The Truman Show.
I've been comparing James to Pendergast for awhile.
ReplyDeleteGosh you guys, why can't we all just enjoy diversity? It is so great. We can, as always, start with remembering those heroes who "Marched with Martin" for equal rights and, of course, ignore the relentless, unceasing, violence of the black on white Hate Crimes that our President, Attorney General, MSM and Washington politicians ignore in pursuit of Democratic sinecure and new demographic hegemony in the new Amerika.
ReplyDeleteHey! Lets name the entire city Emmit Tillville.
These unrightable wrongs will and should follow any and all caucasions into the grave.
I, as can you all, only hope, that as those miserable old white fucks died at 127th and Wornall, they felt guilty about their "White Privlege".
Fuck 'em.
Just last year, on the Red Carpet, I said that "Old white people just needed to die off."
ReplyDeleteLet me take a minute, to throw some props to my main man, Brandin Howell.
Good job!
10:13 What are you ranting about? I'm in favor of eliminating both the old white people and the old Black people who perpetuate the racial discord in this country, including Rev. Al and Jesse.
ReplyDeleteHow many subscriptions are out there?
ReplyDeleteHow many subscriptions are out there?
ReplyDeleteMost ignorant white video gamers don't know who harry truman is either, that is a fact.
ReplyDeleteStop the whole mob thing from the olden years. There's the truth about what really happened, and the truth according to the people involved.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to talk to family members of these people, Tony. They have a very, very different take indeed. The media spins it in a fashionable way calling it the mob, but it was like a virus back in those days touching everything and you couldn't get away.
Pendergast was not as Irish as you think.
Also, this guy never stood up to the mob, he never did any of that. He was a good good guy and knew how to talk to people. There was no aggression or standing up against anything. Give me a break. If anything, he became a part of the democratic machine.
So all mobsters have to be black now? We need to gang bangers gas station memorial pumps?
ReplyDelete8:56...I was just plumb schocket to see that video of a teenage white girl visciously mudered and the futher knocked on my ass to find out it was a Negro.
ReplyDeleteDoes Negroes violently attacking, raping, killing and injuring white people happen often in the US?
The national lame steam media does not report this so could this just be a one time event?
How about just "Coon Catchers East"?
ReplyDeleteShe-boon East......
ReplyDeleteNigger Inn
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we name it after every guy who ever went up against the mob? We could call it Dead Dumb Ass Central.
ReplyDeleteBlack people would be free if their own people would not sell them out.
ReplyDeleteMissouri - the most racist state in America.
ReplyDelete2:23, it's not racist, it's realist. And I think you might be surprised how white people coast to coast are getting fed up with niggers and their constant bullshit.
DeleteLeon Jordan wasn't killed because of Mazzuca or any other publicly known reason. He was killed because he "borrowed" some jewelry from a mob associate but refused to give it back when asked. In fact, he snubbed the individual who asked him to do so.
ReplyDeleteSteal from the mob, and you will pay.
mob political ties to the local democratic party still run deep. Johnny Rizzo and Chris Moreno are proof of that.
