City Hall invites the public to suggest names for the new Kansas City Police Department East Patrol campus despite the fact that there's already an organized movement to dedicate the campus to slain civil rights leader Leon Jordan.
Remember that we recently profiled a controversy regarding the naming of East Patrol and a really out-of-touch Dead Tree Media editorial on the topic.
And now . . .
CITY HALL SEEKS TESTIMONY FROM THE PUBLIC ON THE NAMING OF THE NEW EAST PATROL!!!
While the newspaper opposes community consensus that already exists and a petition effort currently in progress, this forum should be a good gauge of how dedicated locals are in naming the complex after slain civil rights leader Leon Jordan and founder or Freedom, Inc.
Check the presser and FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST YOUR OWN EAST PATROL NAMES IN THE COMMENTS:
Residents invited to suggest names for the East Campus
Residents are invited to a public hearing to consider whether the East Patrol Division Station and Crime Lab Campus, or an individual part of the campus, should carry a name other than East Campus. The campus is currently under construction at 27th Street and Prospect Avenue.
City Council members and city staff will be on hand to listen to public recommendations and comments. This hearing will begin a public process to examine whether a name should be attached to the campus, as well as who could be honored and why. If a name is given to the facility, it would mark the first time any KCMO police station is named in honor of an individual.
What: Public Hearing
When: Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Where: Robert J. Mohart Multipurpose Center, 3200 Wayne Ave., Kansas City, Missouri, 64109
Residents may also submit comments by emailing communications@kcmo.org by October 15, 2014.
For more information, please contact Chris Hernandez, City Communications Director at 816-513-3474.
Background:
The East Patrol Division Station and Crime Lab Campus will have a significant economic impact on Kansas City’s eastside citizens and businesses, while also benefiting the City’s taxpayers. The East Campus represents an unprecedented investment in the Third District of Kansas City, MO.
Construction has begun on this $74 million project, which is scheduled for completion by Winter 2015-2016. The facilities are scheduled to open in early 2016.
The East Campus is being built with the Public Safety Sales Tax approved by Kansas City voters in 2002 and renewed in 2010.
The new East Campus will feature a police division station, a state-of-the-art crime lab, and a property and evidence depository. These new facilities will replace outdated buildings.
Don't count on the mayor to be anywhere close to this event.
ReplyDeleteWhy not just name it "Police Station"???
ReplyDeleteLets just name the city Louis Farrakahville, maybe then the whiney pukes will shut up and go to fuckin work contributing something instead of suckin on the Government teat and burning down grocery stores in the "Food Desert".
ReplyDeleteBe sure and change the name from Wornall to Howell Street to honor another slain hero also.
The Bull Connor Memorial Coon Cage
ReplyDeleteThis will be a great opportunity to hear everyone's anonymous racist suggestions. Looks like they've already started this morning while they were having their coffee.
ReplyDelete6:55, Shouldn't you be drawing cartoons about saving your ghetto neighborhood?
DeleteHow about naming it after Harry Stone seems very fitting since was black thugs who killed him.
ReplyDeletePo Po Shop
ReplyDeleteWhy does everything in this town have to be named after a nigger anymore? I agree Harry Stone serve those niggers right for killing him.
ReplyDeleteHow about TonyKC?
ReplyDeleteI bet there aren't 6 people in the hood who know who Leon Jordan was. How about calling it East Patrol Station?
ReplyDeleteSlanderella Station
ReplyDeleteI agree with 7:52, East Patrol Division Station. Leon had too many ties to organized crime.
ReplyDeleteI vote Harry Stone Memorial Station.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it even better is Harry Stone lived and was murdered in Raytown by east side KC thugs. Naming the station after him would be a great memorial to plague the east side has been to the entire metro area.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the white guilt going to end? I'm so fucking sick of niggers.
ReplyDeleteLeon Jordan was some sort of bar owner who was mixed up with the mob, wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteDarktown Station
ReplyDeleteDick Howser station.
ReplyDeleteKC Outfit Bunk House
ReplyDeleteEveryone is paying for this police station. So we need no name on this except East Patrol Station.
ReplyDeleteEast Patrol....
ReplyDeleteGRAND THEFT CENTRAL POLICE STATION is fitting. The public stealing that took place underlying this project remains a prominent issue. Of course, Blacks love to name things after other Blacks who are notorious for criminal activity.
ReplyDeleteGraft Central Station. We shared the $74Mil loot, grand larceny against my people went well; but we're making people safe by installing a military barracks in the centroid of the Black community despite my stance against the militarization of the police... trust me, I'm a reverend. God knows best.
ReplyDeleteA sign needs to be posted; "You lost your home and property for this. That is community policing in action."
ReplyDeleteSearch for "Purple Capsule Gang" from the 1960's and 1970's KCMo. That bunch knows what happened.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care what they call their new fort, but it is in the East Patrol area. Maybe we can get the grassrooters involved and rename lot's of things. Just a divide and conquer bone/smoke screen.
When do we get to see the street car audit?
East Patrol Division
ReplyDeleteShould be named, "Home of the East Patrol Ghetto Nig Scandal".
ReplyDeleteHEY TKC!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere's the news story about the thug in Ferguson whose memorial went up in a blaze earlier this morning. You can find it on 980kmbz's site. I'm sure it was a passing motorist who accidentally discarded a cigarette.. lol
PS: WAY TO GO WHOEVER YOU IZ IN FeRgUsOn, MO
Thanks for the info about the memorial. God Bless that Officer, and to hell with the ghetto negro mentality.
ReplyDeleteYeah let's name a polease station after a dead mobbed up nigger politician. That sends a great message.
ReplyDeleteLet's name it the Freedman's Savings Bank. It's not technically bank but its not located within East patrol boundaries, either. If you own property in or near this military fortress you're likely to end up like those that deposited their money at that bank in 1865 and thereafter. Place a plaque in the building for the Black race hustlers who helped.
ReplyDeleteIf we rename this police station then Metro Station needs a new name?!!!!
ReplyDeleteLeon Jordan had strong ties to city hall as a confidential informant. Sell out.
Fuck leon
ReplyDeleteHere's a good name for it. The Detective Michael Stockman sit on my ass and do absolutely nothing but fuck things up patrol station.
ReplyDeleteJordan owned the Green Duck Tavern, which was a notorious mob and gang hangout. In fact, most people who remember his death also remember that everybody suspected that the mob killed him. It was not a "racist" killing. The Green Duck is no more, thanks to the KC PoPo finally closing it down a couple of years ago as a public danger. It only took 40 years. Why would anybody name anything after this guy?
ReplyDeleteName it after the Firefighter that was shot and killed by the police officer. I think his last name was Bruno. That would be appropriate.
ReplyDeletemaybe name new station something easy to rember[metro-hall]stands for housing all legal law-enfocement
