ReplyDeleteWhile admittedly there is a definite trend for forward-looking politicians to move away from D.C. and toward their state leadership, we don't see McCaskill following in those footsteps.
ReplyDeleteKS Gov. Brownback left the U.S. Senate to fulfill a pledge he'd promised, and to hopefully produce a KS turnaround which would put him in the spotlight. This hasn't happened as of yet.
Sen. McCaskill is too fond of the Washington, D.C. trappings and power circuit to voluntarily give that up, and she thinks she can hang around there until she's ready to retire of her own accord.
McCaskill might not be running against a pure douche like Aiken if she goes for Gov.
