Important news from the very close Missouri 27th District Aug 5th primary election that was officially certified just now . . .
This has been a HOTLY CONTEST DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY ELECTION in Kansas City's urban core which featured Freedom, Inc. taking on a former ally and upstart political action committee "We The People" moving to shake up the status quo.
The news just in . . .
OFFICIAL BALLOT CERTIFICATION REVEALS: MISSOURI STATE REP. BONNAYE MIMS HOLDS ON FOR VICTORY BY 12 VOTES AFTER A FORMIDABLE AUG. 5TH DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY CHALLENGE!!!
Initial results first noted challenger India Williams winning by 17 votes. Those were the election night returns. KICK-ASS KC INSIDERS reveal that a memory card containing absentee votes didn't read properly at first and that was one reason for the discrepancy.
However . . .
THE OFFICIAL RESULTS NOW REVEAL THAT MO STATE REP. MIMS WON BY A VERY CLOSE 12 VOTES!!!
The final total . . .
Bonnaye Mims: 1433
India Williams: 1421
UPDATE . . . We've just learned that officials have counted these results 6 times already so supporters of State Rep. Mims are confident that the margin of victory will hold up to further scrutiny if opponents press for a recount.
UPDATE . . . Thank you for all the folks who are sending messages our way on this . . . This Missouri State Rep. vote in Kansas City's urban core is drawing a lot of interest and more than anything it serves as a sign that Freedom, Inc. is earning a bit of push back from groups like "We The People" who organized a new political action committee that has earned an impressive victory in its first official outing.

"Bonnie Mims has won. We The People has won 2 Representatives 2 committee seats and won all the amendments. This is a victory for our community and a great victory for Bonnaye."

ReplyDeleteThe Kansas City Election is not corrupt. Some people don't understand the voting process for Kansas City, MO since it's sectioned into different election jurisdictions. The Jackson County Election Board had to certify its votes since a portion of Kansas City, MO is under their umbrella. That could not be done until both election boards CERTIFIED their election results. NOTICE: That's the reason election boards label election returns as UNOFFICIAL RESULTS UNTIL THE COMMISSIONERS CERTIFY THEM at a later date when all data is considered.
