Jackson County Insiders tell us to tread carefully on the topic of a new job for Bishop Tindall with Jackson County.
The discussion of County employment following Bishop Tindall's resignation has evoked ire from more than a few critics given that the resignation was brought about over a recent controversy regarding a long ago court case that prevents Missouri felons from holding office.
However, now we have a bit more insight into the recent outpouring of support for Bishop Tindall upon his last day as a legislator. It looks like he wasn't really leaving the Courthouse any time soon and this just might have been a chance to express more than a bit of esteem for the local clergyman.
Here's both sides of the discussion at hand . . .
CRITICS OF THE CURRENT JACKSON COUNTY ADMINISTRATION RAGE OVER EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS OF THE LEGISLATOR WHO WAS FORCED OUT OF OFFICE OVER A FELONY CHARGE!!!
Opponents of this hiring see the decision as an affront to the spirit of the effort to remove Bishop Tindall from office and the Missouri legislation they invoked which attempts to purge local government of people with felonies on their record.

JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS ATTEMPT TO BRING CALM AND NOTE THAT THE POSITION IS ONLY A PART-TIME GIG IN A FIELD WHERE BISHOP TINDALL HAS SHOWN REMARKABLE EXPERTISE . . .
There is no doubt that Bishop Tindall has extensive political and community connections that would make his employment valuable . . . Still, controversy rages over the question of County part-time work as political patronage and the very real concern that this new gig could cost lower level County employees their jobs in a time of continued Courthouse austerity.
Either way . . . Don't count on mainstream media to note this JACKSON COUNTY BISHOP TINDALL EMPLOYMENT CONTROVERSY until after the fact as the debate over the merits and consequences of felons working in Kansas City area local government continues FIRST on TKC. Natch.

If I leaked info like this at my job I'd be fired immediately but apparently no one at the county or city for that matter seems to mind. Makes you wonder how much of these "breaking and exclusive" stories aren't just well placed political theater and the only one that bites is this blog. Low lying fruit?

ReplyDeleteThis is nothing more than one legislator trying to save face because he appointed Tindall without telling other legislators or the exec office. Or, maybe the exec office is pissed because they just found out today, here's the buzz: Legislator A finds out about Tindall's new job and calls the other legislators and exec asking why no one told them out of professional courtesy. Thing is, NO ONE knew this had happened, not even the exec, or other legislators which is puzzling because no one, not even Legislator A would have a problem with the temp appointment because someone has to fill the position until the election and no one knows that job better than Tindall. It's temporary fix. So either exec is embarrassed or pissed the appointment was made without their blessing or the legislator who made the appointment is scurrying to do damage control, but likely the former. Want to know how I know this? Because the legislator that appointed Tindall has an aide that can't keep her mouth shut who loves to impress everyone with all her "important inside information" of the county, running her mouth at Troost Alliance or when she's on a smoke break or any other opportunity she gets to tell us about things like this we really could care less about. Check her text messages. She sends gossip out en mase. She is loathed at the court house, at the community organizations and everyone wishes his old aide was still around. Thanks to her self importance she's gotten people fired and complained of harassment within her first two weeks on the job. You can never reach her, I called her 3 times in a 4 week period to get help with a personal property tax issue and she's yet to call me back about that BUT I know the inside scoop about this situation thanks to her even though she only goes to the office 10 hours a week. He made a huge mistake firing his old aide and hiring this monster and maybe it was an exec leak, but it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't leak this story herself just to make herself feel important. If you don't know who I'm taking about, B.B. is a hint.
ReplyDeleteTrue that about that monster. What a do-nothing. She gets paid how much ? to work a few hours a week and paid to smoke and paid to be rude to everyone she "works" with? Who allows this? That other aide answered phone calls and was nice to everyone. The county is such a mess. Too bad the local newspaper turns a blind eye.
