TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! OUTPOURING OF SUPPORT FOR JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATOR BISHOP JAMES TINDALL ON HIS LAST DAY IN OFFICE!!!

Today @ The Jackson County Courthouse there was an IMPORTANT an UNPRECEDENTED ceremony for Bishop James Tindall, Sr. on his last day in the Jackson County Legislature.

On Friday, TKC TIPSTERS reminded us of the controversial circumstances surrounding the departure of this Legislator but right now the most important aspect of the story is today's tribute.

To wit . . .

ALL OF THE JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATURE AND NEARLY EVERY TOP RANKING AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEADER IN KANSAS CITY GATHERED TODAY TO CELEBRATE THE LAST DAY OF BISHOP TINDALL IN OFFICE!!!

We hear that every member of the Legislature stood to say something nice about Bishop Tindall and Legislator Denny Waits even got a bit choked up when we handed this plaque to the outgoing political powerhouse in commemoration of his years of service.

The signs in this post were carried and posted during the gathering by supporters, friends and family.

County Exec Mike Sanders offered thoughtful remarks on Bishop Tindall's work with the Legislature to shape current County law and provide more inclusive community outreach.

While there is no replacing this longstanding representative of the community . . . Today we hear can confirm that

Former Kansas City Councilman Ken Bacchus

Rev. Keith Brown

And Keith Thompson

Are up to fill the seat for the remainder of the term . . . Mr. Bacchus is the odds on favorite.

Developing . . .

  1. He lasted longer than most and managed to go out on his own terms. That's more than most can ask for in politics.

    1. Own terms??? You have got to be kidding. He was forced out against his will. The law is the law.

  11. You don't know politics @8:14 but I have a feeling that he probably made the right decision. It requires some skill and the ability to remember a name.

Better to talk with bar friends.

As for Bishop Tindall, his career is one of the longest in KC and that is something that can't be denied.

  12. His long career and those of the moribund county legislature reflects poorly on the voters of our county.

  13. Dear Bishop

As a tax payer it has been wonderful having a fellow felon on the county commission. Can the rest of us felons please carry guns, vote, stop reporting to our parole officers, run for State Senate and also spend millions in tax payer monies? Thanks so much.

  18. There's scrambling among the COMBAT grant recipients tonight. Better cover some tracks and lay some plans for the new round of money, or maybe not.
Probably don't have to actually be in office to pull some strings.
COMBAT is $15-20 million down the toilet year after year with no change in the drug-driven crime rates at all.
It's never what, how, or how well. It's always who.
