THE TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY CLASH OF THE TITANS: MAYOR SLY BATTLES MR. PEANUT FOR STREETCAR SUPREMACY!!!

Behind the scenes, the upcoming toy train streetcar TDD election is now the battleground for control of Kansas City politics.

Accordingly . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS SAY THE ELECTION STRUGGLE FOR TOY TRAIN STREETCAR SUPREMACY WILL DETERMINE CONTROL OF LOCAL POLITICS FOR MAYOR SLY OR THE CONTINUED DOMINATION OF MR. PEANUT!!!

Mr. Peanut has long opposed fixed rail transit and he has proven successful EVERY TIME he has put his campaign team to work.

On the other hand, Mayor Sly is the FIRST MAYOR who Mr. Peanut did not anoint and now some trumpet the demise of Mr. Peanut's EPIC reign over local politics.

Make no mistake . . . Mr. Peanut has established a legacy in this town but support from local corporate interests might prove too powerful. Then again, in the last light rail battle Council dude Russ Johnson called out Mr. Peanut as a "subprime" operator and now Russ Johnson couldn't get elected to dog catcher. The stakes for Mayor Sly here are bigger than his team might thing, this is the first real test of his alleged 70% popularity rating that his cheerleaders lie about . . .

Let's look at the battle lines . . .

Notable SUPPORTERS of the toy train streetcar phase deux include . . .

- Consultant powerhouse Jason Parsons & Co. managing the urban core initiative and voter "education" door knocking that some call illegal electioneering, Steve Glorioso running PR, Larry Jacob handling the campaign overall.

- Corporate support from Burns & Mac, the Heavies and a great many local lawyers.

- The "creative class" of minor consultants and hipsters like Staubio posing as urban activists in order to win a few contract handouts.

The main OPPOSITION against the streetcar extension  . . .

- Show-Me Institute libertarian activists powered by Rex Sinquefield & Crosby Kemper III cash . . .

- Freedom, Inc. against PIAC looting and misplaced urban core priorities . . .

- And of course, Mr. Peanut and the EXTENSIVE LIST of political contacts he has developed over his many years.

In the grand scheme of things, this smallish election is just another step Kansas City is taking toward bankruptcy.

Nevertheless . . .

THE FIGHT BETWEEN MR. PEANUT VS. MAYOR SLY WILL DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF KANSAS CITY POLITICS FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT DECADE!!!

Call it corporate vs. civic patron politics in Kansas City in order to determine how best to lead local voters who are increasingly turning away from voting and Democracy.

8:14 - Why would sly buy a Dodge Challenger if he doesn't win?

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think he means an OPPONENT, and Sly should get an opponent who challenges him. He hasn't done anything for the community. He's only good at taking orders.

    ReplyDelete
  4. At least he was elected. Jim Nutter couldn't get elected mayor of Nutterville.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Forget politics voters need to just get out and defeat the TDD on August 5.

    ReplyDelete
  6. All you white people best get out and vote this time of the darkies will take over the election once again.

    ReplyDelete
  7. LEAVE YOUR EGO'S AT THE DOOR AND JUST DEFEAT THE DAMN TDD!!!

Forget the mayor and other personalities!

  8. If you want four people to have total control over your life if you live within the proposed TDD who can set the amount of taxes you pay, decide exactly what properties will get hit with special assessments, condemn whatever property it wants, and other things, don't come crying to those of us who have been warning you about whats coming down if you vote yes.

  9. Nothing says political powerhouse like a Dodge Challenger.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Why not join us? Among the benefit's of becoming a downtown streetcar supporter and streetcar neighbor you can enjoy living in a $250,000 condo and pay only $600 a year in property taxes!

Contact Dave Johnson and Matt Staub for details!

    1. Actually, it would be $322.50 for that $250,000 condo. But thanks for spreading lies, or showing your math idiocy

  11. Let the people who don't like and support our downtown lifestyle pay the bills!

    Vote Yes On Question A!!

  12. The Tax Discrimination District (TDD) is an economic attack on the poorest neighborhoods in Kansas City. Why are these neighborhoods being singled out for the highest (combined) tax increase in Kansas City's history when other, more affluent areas of the city are excluded? This is outrageous.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sly will lose this one, and lose big.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Where does the bear stand on this issue?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Slys going down and not on Russell Welsh this time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. IF the TDD passes, there will be mandatory abortions and slavery will return.

  17. Wow Glorioso (11:52) is now posting on TKC?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Glorioso is probably paying attention to KCMO voters, not low-information, unregistered suburban trolls from OP and Parkville (no offense Sue) playing echo chamber on a blog.

    ReplyDelete
  19. A black guy should be working picking peanuts for sale by real Mr.Peanut.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Lies and math idiocy is the lingua franca of the shrinking anti-streetcar cabal.

Everyone who is not a wild-eyed zealot is backing away from these people fast.

every day the lies get wilder and now even other transit haters are embarrassed.

    Shit like this is why:
"The Tax Discrimination District (TDD) is an economic attack on the poorest neighborhoods in Kansas City"
"If you want four people to have total control over your life if you live within the proposed TDD who can set the amount of taxes you pay, decide exactly what properties will get hit with special assessments, condemn whatever property it wants, and other things, don't come crying to those of us who have been warning you about whats coming down if you vote yes"

When you're wrong, the best thing to do is try for the big lie. And keep trying a new one until one sticks.

    So far we've heard:

"Everyone in Brookside is mad and does support streetcars." LIE

"Streetcars will steal the trolley trail (aka Sherry's back porch)" LIE

    "Streetcar endanger children" LIE.

"Its unfair for people to vote on their own taxes/businesses should get to vote/people who aren't taxed should get to decide for people who will be taxed" LIE

"Taxes are unjust (if primarily poor neighborhoods benefit from them)" LIE

"Buses are better than the kind of transit they have everywhere else" LIE

"KC is not dense enough, unless its a light rail line through the sprawled out northland to the airport" LIE

"No one will use it (unless it goes to the airport that everyone will drive to anyway and not many people use" LIE

    "Streetcars are noisy" LIE

    "Business will fail" LIE

"It doesn't cause any economic development" LIE

"Criminals will use it (but they won't use the streets)" LIE

"Elected leaders who we voted on to represent us are forcing this on us (by allowing us to vote on it)" LIE

"Mail in elections (that are actually easier and more convenient to vote in, and that have identical turnout) are cheating if we don't like the outcome" LIE

"People who rent shouldn't get to vote" LIE

"Sly bullied us when we yelled and interrupted" LIE

"This is a grassroot movement with LOTS of democrats, not mostly anti-tax, anti-transit, anti-infrastructure fake 'libertarians' with fringe veiws" LIE

"The city carve out Brookside because of the peoples uprising (not because it was a poor route for federal matching dollars, oh no, couldn't be)" LIE

"TDDs are gerrymandering (not just letting neighborhoods decide for themselves)" LIE

"As long as you don't pass this, we'll buy you better buses, because Sherry and Jim and Pat and Dan have ALWAYS looked out for poor people in midtown and the East side and have been very active supporters of transit" LIE

    ReplyDelete
  21. Glorioso is out lying to neighborhood associations and refusing anyone who doesn't agree to ask questions 12:55.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Your ignorance and the shallowness - depth of your intellect is pretty astounding 1:49.

Soon or later the streetcar lemmings true colors were going to appear so here it is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOL can someone get 1:49 to a doctor for tranquilizer injections!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey 1:49 we'll make you a deal all you Streetcar Supporters do a lie detector test and we'll ask the questions.

I suspect the machines would blow up by about the third or fourth questions.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1:49 is as dumb as dirt.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's sad to watch as the largest municipality in the metro turns out to be "governed" by such empty-headed clueless people that they can be convinced to run the entire operation over the financial cliff by the kiddie corps, urban futurists, and every self-serving group around, who could care less about the city and its residents and view KCMO as nothing more than an ATM machine.
And the 84% of the metro residents who don't live in KCMO watch with disbelief and amusement.
If the city/county wants to fund a memorial with names you don't want to forget, list all the names of the biggest boosters of this fiasco. And see if you're able to find them about three years from now when the full impact of this financial catastrophe becomes apparent.

    ReplyDelete
  27. hey 12:55. Sue B. doesn't live in Parkville. I don't know where you got that idea. She lives in KCMO.

    ReplyDelete
  28. These streetcar assholes know it would not survive a city-wide vote, so they gerrymander taxing districts so they can try to piece it together. Like a toy train. I am still floored that these assholes rammed through the starter line with 300 or so votes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Streetcar assholes = architects, construction swells and lawyers billing the shit out of the city. All who buy off politicians so their public feeding frenzy at the trough can continue uninterrupted. Vote NO.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes African-Americans do ruin everything they touch whether they wear hoodies or suits.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1:49 (Mensa boy) lives in an alternate universe and is a pathological liar who will need a job when his term runs out next year.

His well-publicized temper makes him unsuitable for a real job, so he's in Bizarro world.

By the way, did the woman he plowed his car into ever get compensation?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Self "employeed" Internet lawyer boy still thinks its funny to:

    1. be smarter than he is
    2. pretend only 1 person in KC disagrees with him and his brookside political fringe buddies.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey 1:49 - go fuck yourself. Or the cum guy will.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Polsinelli's Plaza Vista

    $81 Special Streetcar Assessment.

That pretty much says it all right there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. oh Sly and your "boy toy" Russ, Give it up! Russ, don't you represent the Northland? We hardly know thee. Sly, don't you represent all of those who thought you were the great savior of neighborhoods and the eastside? We won't believe that campaign crap again! Losers!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. So it's Rex Sinquefeld and Crosby Kemper III (aka "Three Sticks") who are the brains behind Toni Bones.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Pancakes and politics, Sly? Remember having those campaign meetings on the East side? Well, we do, too. And we see and remember the lies that you keep telling. You have done nothing for the east side where you were born. But what do you care? You are just a fake playa.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 1:49 is either stealing his employers time on this blog, lazy and unemployed or self employed. I doubt its self employed, more likely one of the former. What a complete irrational terd. And kind of hysterical too. What's up with that?
