TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY STAYS LOSING GOP CONVENTION 2016 BID!!! DALLAS AND CLEVELAND MOVE FORWARD!!!

Kansas City Mayor Sly danced for some rando Republicans for NOTHING as this cowtown was just dropped from the GOP list of potential host sites.

CNN: Cleveland and Dallas the finalists for 2016 GOP convention

Morover . . .

TKC TIPSTERS TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY WASTED A TON OF CASH ENTERTAINING REPUBLICANS IN A BID THAT WASN'T TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!!

Remember that our blog community already agreed that Dallas was more qualified than Kansas City.

And we DUTIFULLY NOTED that even mainstream political newsies would rather go to Ohio.

Accordingly . . .

DEAL WITH IT KANSAS CITY: WE JUST LOST TO CLEVELAND - THE SECOND WORST CITY IN AMERICA!!!

Now, there's plenty of blame to go around here . . .

But only nitwits and newsies on the take will claim this is because of a TAXPAYER SUBSIDIZED convention hotel Mayor Sly is pushing . . .

IN FACT . . . MAYOR SLY AND CHIEF OF STAFF JOHN McGURK SHUTTING OUT GOP OPERATIVE CATHY NUGENT WAS THE MAIN FACTOR IN KANSAS CITY FAIL!!!

ONCE AGAIN KANSAS CITY SUFFERS FROM MAYOR SLY'S "WIN AT ALL COSTS" POLITICAL MENTALITY!!!

Winners and losers react to GOP bid finalists

Also . . . We knew this thing was a flop because GOP Juggernaut Jeff Roe didn't go anywhere near KCMO's bid.

Finally . . .

The inside deal is that Mayor Sly simply couldn't stand sharing power or the spotlight . . . The convention hotel line is going to be foisted upon the public this week because it's part of the Mayor's agenda but in reality it was Mayor Sly's bullying style that blew Kansas City's chances and deserves the blame.

Here's the RNC Presser Thanks to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . .

RNC Selects Cleveland and Dallas as 2016 Finalists

WASHINGTON – Today, the Republican National Committee’s Site Selection Committee selected Cleveland, Ohio and Dallas, Texas as finalists to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. The committee’s decision was based on a thorough review of bids, presentations, and visits to each of the cities.

Following today’s meeting of the RNC’s Site Selection Committee, Chairwoman Enid Mickelsen issued the following statement:

“After extensive review the site selection committee has chosen Cleveland and Dallas as finalists for the 2016 convention. Cleveland and Dallas demonstrated their ability to host a phenomenal convention in 2016, and the RNC is excited about the prospect of hosting our convention in either of these great cities. After visiting both cities, I can say to my fellow Republicans that we should be excited for the 2016 convention. These world class cities know how to roll out the welcome mat, and more importantly they have the ability to provide our next presidential nominee a launching pad that will put a Republican in the White House in 2016.

“The committee extends our sincere thanks and gratitude to Denver and Kansas City for their hard work and dedication to this effort. Both teams should be proud of their work. They were great ambassadors for their cities, and we felt fortunate to visit and get to know them. This was a tough decision for our committee because all four of these cities made excellent bids.

“As we move closer to choosing a host for our convention, I’m more confident than ever that we’ll have an outstanding partner to showcase our Party and our Republican nominee in 2016.”

    Don't blame Sly.

    He danced.

    He DANCED VERY NICELY.

It was all he could do for Kansas City.

    ReplyDelete
  2. KC had not chance of getting this. It was all about Sly and Council ego thinking they could pull it off. Another example of them wasting taxpayer money on pie in the sky to further their agenda not the agenda or what's best for the people.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Kansas City SUCKS!, and even the GOP knows it hahahahahahahaha

  4. 119:Truth.

However, the glee that Tony and his followers take in other's failures is at least equally disturbing as the intent of those would are summarily criticized.

Friggin haters. They come in all colors.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Shut up McGurk! Your boss lost this one fair and square.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Now the blame starts. This cost KC hundreds of thousands paid to relatives of KC staffers. This is a big scandal for KCMo in the making. The Mayor will have a lot of explaining to do.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Thank God. Can we please get back to more important things like expanding streetcar at any cost?

  8. Cathy Nugent? Ask her how Denver fared!

  9. Tony,

Why is there no reporting from the mainstream news of the current hotel shortage? Last night all hotel rooms in the Kansas City area, including as far as Lawrence were Sold Out. It is my understanding that a large convention, Skills USA, is in town as well as some other military exercise. This is great news for the city given that the taxes on many of these rooms are north of 15%. I am pretty sure the same is true for tonight. Every hotel that is branded, so we are excluding the pay by the hour hotels, was and will be again sold out as far away as Lawrence. Some brands were even saying they were sold out as far as Topeka. If you want to check it out call 5, 10, 15 random hotels from Lawrence to OP to the Plaza to the airport and you will find this.

  10. check it, kansas city was a real contender. GOP scheduled the release of 2 finalists to see how hotels for skills went in kc.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I blame the Mexicans. Fucking Mexicans ruin everything in this town.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I hope my letter to the RNC about city manager Troy Schulte swayed their decision.

  13. Tony loves to hate Kansas City and all its people. He'd really, really be happier in Dallas. How about a fundraiser to buy him a one-way bus ticket to Dallas, and he can just open a blog there. He'll finally be with people who can appreciate his wonderfulness since Dallas is such a better place than KC.

FYI, there is study out in Canada That examines the disorder that causes people from seeing anything but negative things.

Might want to spend sometime with the remedies.

  15. the RNC would have been great for KC, but we just didn't have the hotel rooms. Plain and simple. watch for the Mayor's statements to come, doesn't mean we need a tax subsidized hotel, but its the plain fact. The GOP was waiting for Skills, because they wanted to come to KC, but we just could not accomodate it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @211 I have witnessed otherwise fall into deep depression by just being with 20 feet of his body odor.

Learned people and I emphasize learned, refer to his personality type as energy vampire.

Running this blog is his feeble attempt to address his self esteem issues by drawing other Nancys to his circle.

By the way, put me down for $20.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Surely nobody REALLY thought Kansas City would be anyone's choice? With all the niggers and all their violence and ugliness, this is the last place a rational human would want to hold a convention.

  18. OH yes! I am on Tony's framily plan and we hate blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, and anyone that I perceive to be different that me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. On yes 231, more whites would have brought the convention here.

    Any other insights from 1942?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Troy Schule? He's a Negro too. No wonder we did not win.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We also hate gays.

But we are reconsidering if they are gun nuts. Will get back to you.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 2:34, 2:31 has a valid point minus the hate behind it. the violence near hotels convention goers would have had to stay at is unacceptable. who from the DNC or RNC would want to stay at the admiral-paseo motel on independence avenue? no one. its not a clean hotel, read the reviews. and yet with the convention we have in town now, that place is sold out. call them and ask.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Our Mayor has a man crush on a terrible President. The ideology is so close. Force things on the people that they are not asking for. Too many sissy hipster liberals walking around without a clue, and mobs on the plaza. Not the ideal place for a Republican convention.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know a guy who was staying at that motel for like a week. Kept complaining of a foul odor in his room.
They finally came in and pulled a dead guy out from under the bed!
btw -guys name is Denny and he was one crazy mofo himself, as you might have guessed.

TKC, tipsters, and the comment crowd had it right all along!!

OLD LEGACY MEDIA had it WRONG...again!!

  26. Why didn't KC compete for the Demo Convention?

  27. Ugly public loss for Sly,

  28. P Bear, the bigot Polar Bear, called Cleveland three weeks ago and he said they would win because OHIO is one of the major states that Republicans need to win.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The hotels in KC are a disaster. Straight out of 1985.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I noticed that the cum guy has left Cathy Nugent alone. Any way, what is her position on unsolicited bulk email?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yep, it's coming. Mayor James: "This is why we've been stating for years the need for a new PUBLICLY FINANCED 1000 room hotel downtown. Now, it's so bad, we're going to need SEVERAL 1000 room hotels downtown if we want to compete for larger conventions. And I'm going to do everything in my power as mayor of this MotherFucking town to put a measure on the ballot for the largest tax increase I can get to raise enough tax payer dollars to build the hotels we need to compete with the Dallas', Denvers' and Indianapolis' for these conventions. Because these types of projects should absolutely always be publicly funded while the spoils go to corporations"

    Watch, it's coming...stay tuned.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 3:55 i thought the drury family from creve couer were willing to build a drury plaza downtown and were turned away, and tney wanted to do it with minimal to no public money.

CK will ALWAYS be a democrap shithole cowtown! But it will have a sreetcar that goes NOWHERE. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. 4:07 why do you keep talking about the streetcar? chastain and the tax district will cancel eachother out in august, big setback for streetcar.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Scott Drury and his brother were here several times this year, they got not so much as a smile from Dunn or burns & mc, they actually showed up supporting a function for a 501 c 3 here in KC that kcp&l, burns & mc and the city was boycotting at the time, funny how hatred comes in and bites you in the ass

  36. A loss for Sly and City Hall and a win for the people.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ditto! 4:51

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, this news is SHOCKING! Just another example of KC and their idiot colored mayor thinking they're big time, when really they're just the cowtown they've always been and always will be. Quit fighting it and embrace it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does this mean the Streetcar's over too?

    ReplyDelete
  40. BREAKING!!! I DANCE WITH GLEE OVER A KANSAS CITY FAILURE!!!

Well good for you. That's all I'm getting from this, Tony.

But it is better to try, and fail, than to not try at all. Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Is that how you are justifying Sly wasting so much KC money on this $40 thousand at least from police. A damn shame is what it really is. We have a mayor who thinks City Hall is like a piggy bank. The man needs to grow up.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well, we would have been chosen if only we'd had a magic streetcar.

    ReplyDelete
  43. THANK YOU GAWD!

    ReplyDelete
  44. TKC told us and we should have listened. TKC always hits the nail on the head. Thank you, TKC. Kansas City is out of its league. The City sucks and well... local government can't do anything right as clearly demonstrated with this lose. Now, we can move on and get things like sewers fixed, sidewalks repaired and for God's sake no allow anymore disabled children to be killed in traffic because there are no sidewalks. SMH

    ReplyDelete
  45. the drury brothers are trying to one up each other. we could have had a monster hotel sly wants downtown. hell they gave over a 100 million just to have a private audience with pope john paul II when he came to st louis.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 3:32 winner!

    ReplyDelete
  47. once again kansas city shits on the northland. the whole james v burke mayors race result was set after the primary. but a large part of mayor james success came from the northland vote. northland public safety residents, ie local 42, and the northland republican vote, ie the kc st joe diocese (scott wagner) and some strong italian support. the loss of this convention for the reasons we lost probably won't spell sly's doom in reelection since he is the incumbent, but is the second (or more) slap to those that are growing in this city.

    ReplyDelete
  48. mayor james, don't always count on the rank and file following the your political insiders. we tolerate. for every fulcrum there is a tipping point.

    ReplyDelete
  49. BoJamesgle danced and did he gorilla minstrel thang all for naught.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is hilarious. The Republicans just defeated Sly in the next mayoral election and they made Kansas City pay the tab.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You know, a lot of you people are screwed up. It seems to me that this blog likes KC because this is the only place willing to tell the truth and try to make it interesting. Everybody else is just working public relations or advertising.

    ReplyDelete
  52. To those who desire to find fault, they never have to look far. They often find facts to support their negative conclusion, but their glee in finding fault marginalizes them from others.

Then they come to Tony's KC, where the collective whine of complaining is constant and persistent. The major actors of which include an over weight Hispanic without a real job, a bear that expresses love of the klan, and a cum rape guy that somehow feels better through the written expression of sick misogyny. Oh, and the self-loathing dweeb who is trying to come up with a new verb.

Free speech be damned. If the government shut down Tony's KC, I would shrug and go on my way.

To the haters, here's hoping the Royals win tonight and stick it up your rear ends.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So, just as yet another chapter in the KCMO clown show comes to an end, another door will open and in will walk a couple more con men from out of town with the latest "can't lose" deal to sell those hard-hitting business types that the city residents elect to city office.
What shell is the pea under this time?

    ReplyDelete
  54. 7:36, I think the cum guy wants a date with you. Let's see what he wants to do.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Can we get back to Slys whistle stop trolly campaign tour of KC?

  58. The skills convention isnt coming back to KC after this year, The spokesman for the outfit said "why should we bring a convention to your city with a theme of bringing people from all across the country who have skills to a city that even the local government has none of!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Skills is leaving...we dont need any new hotels and the tax that comes with it to build. The ole adage is if you build it they will come, but who the fuck would want to come to Kansas City for anything? If you have a reason to post why people would come you are the reason they dont!

    ReplyDelete
  60. 7:36 Shut up and gobble the goop.

    ReplyDelete
  61. And yet, 926 can't help but prove 736's point.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think the problem is most people see a city as a unit, living in the same area, taking pride in that area, voting people into office to further that goal, but obviously not in Kansas City.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hahahaaha Bill George just LOST tons of cash with the RNC not coming to KC, while it might be a sad day for some with that news, Its a victory for all those who have been effected by the KC taxi and transportation monopoly...KARMA is a bitch mobster George hahahahaah

Who in their right mind thought we had a chance?

What a total waste of city resources and our tax dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  68. 7:36: We really wouldn't mind not finding fault, but there's just so damn much of it, and I don't think many of us are gleeful about it--especially those who try to work with this amazingly incompetent self-serving city bureaucracy.

Sorry you don't support free speech. I imagine a lot of our city officials are with you on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 7:36pm, sorry to hear the Roy'al's didn't win last night. Now, get on your knees and lick my nasty, nut sack and STFU. Ass clown.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Not about hotels or we wouldn't have made it to finals. Stop trying to sell a new hotel.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Don't see how you can call this a failure. They did exactly what they intended to do, give their buddies more taxpayer money while at the same time Sly gets his face time.

    And it worked.

Wonder what scheme they'll try next

    ReplyDelete
  72. Simple, we lost because we could not prove we could keep the tea-baggers out. The re-branding monster the GOP created has come back to bite the hand that fed it. Unless the GOP can keep those kinds of nuts away and give them less "ammo to fire" then the more chance they have of possibly winning.

But when you have an area of tea-bagging nuts: wanna-be-billionaire millionaire gun toting JoCo Locos to Missouri Ozark Klan members furious over a black president pitching their (false narrative) message here would be even harder.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Mistreatment of Cathy Nugent:
    the random shootings at JCCC ;
    sniper on highway ;
crime that was happening around westport; downtown and plaza did not help our case...

Next time we market the city we can worry more about public safety and less about appearances, no one wants to choose a city where you can be shot or attacked while your visiting the city. That hast to be top priority.
