Discrimination is a horrible practice that must be addressed at every point there is contention. But some of the items on the McDonald's menu aren't so bad. For instance, the Southeast Chicken salad WITHOUT the dressing is quite tasty and a decent nutritional value.

There's not one discriminatory thing about that sign/policy. All it says if that you aren't a customer, you are limited to 20 minutes in the dining area. If you are a paying customer, you can stay as long as you like. How in the world is that discriminatory?

As a high school student Friday and Saturday nights a common place to meet McDonald's parking lot. We go in buy a drink or some food and then all meet in the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteNever got out of hand, no fights, but the management had to ask us to leave b/c there were so many of us taking up parking spaces.
After several requests and we being typical teenagers we didn't leave right away. The police were called and we left.
This happened many times, including the police being called, but it was just a nice, friendly place to meet and just hangout.
This also happened 40 years ago at the McDonalds at 79th and State Line. Probably 95% of us were white. My point is that they had a business to run back then, just as they have now. It's not about race, we, the white kids had the police called on us and we left.
Later, I became a cop and the manager who called the cops on us was now a regional manager for McD's and he and I had a friendship that lasted years.
So, Alonzo, you race baiting b@#$%$d, it's not about race....it's business!

ReplyDelete5:45 I had the exact same experience at the McDonalds at 95th & I-35 when I was in high school in the late 80's. Us white kids would congregate and the Lenexa cops would run us off, simple as that. A few months ago, I can't remember where, an old white couple made the news because they would hang out at McDonalds drinking free refills all day. McDonalds finally asked them to leave and they went to the media. Alonzo needs to investigate the McDonalds on Main. A couple of years ago my mother-in-law ordered a McRib. The black girl working there said they were out so she got something else. The black person next in line ordered a McRib and guess what? She got one. My mother-in-law kept quiet about it but I wished she would have raised hell. They have a business to run. It's not a place to hang out. Go to your house or a park.

He introduces himself as a "community activist" (who does that?) and says that he previously had to "work things out" with them in the past to avoid him suing McDonald's (hey, nothing like threatening a person). Says that his son is a "twenty-year-old man, not a kid" but we never hear from the son. He threatens the manager again (bring TV cameras down here) and repeatedly implies that there must be some "racial" element of discrimination present.
This video is an embarrassment for Swallanzo, but he's too dumb to understand that, and he accomplished NOTHING .... absolutely NOTHING...with this visit to the McDonald's.
Its a fast food place for fucks sake. Tell me any kid who takes 20 minutes to eat a burger and fries. Its in a mall. Little shit heels want to loiter and play grab ass, thereby running off paying customers. But wait, it gets better....the business is supposed to take it up the coat and let these kids hurt their business. Sort of like the Plaza.

Sometimes it takes longer than 20 minutes for me to eat my food. Have you ever taken kids to mcdonalds after they get their braces adjusted? It is like a bloody napkin pit. If the kiddos want mcdonalds, I can't complain because they would usually just drink a blender drink or have soft foods at home. It takes them a while to eat their kids meals. We ask for a knife and fork. They will cut it up for you if you ask. You can cut french fries better if you ask for them mushy and not too crispy. I also ask for low salt. Their mother gives me the money for this, so I know I am not care taker of the year here, but when these kids are in pain, I just want them to eat something. Mcdonalds has good icecream and shakes. Wendy's food is easier to cut and chew, the burgers there are less springey or something. Also, wendy's nuggets can be cut into small bits and the breading doesn't fall off. KFC has boneless chicken that is impossible to cut, but they got the coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Popeyes food is tough to chew even without dental problems. Arby's is good and they have good shakes. Mexican food has beans and rice, they will usually bring out soft torts. Sometimes the kids have mole or chorizo and eggs. Waffle house is a good cut-up food place. Taco bell's beans have lumps. Sonic's tots are the best, they are squishy on the inside, but tator tots are always good. I can't say I've ever had a bad tator tot. I don't think alonzo washington deserves this space and I think he is a self-sppointed crime spokesperson who loves himself too much. I wish he would find better things to do with his time than bully some immigrant dude making minimum age. I do not care if I threadjacked this post because alonzo is such a bully. We got a real al sharpton here....genius at work. Change comes from within, and he needs to work on himself. I think braces are barbaric and never had them myself. They don't seem to help much in the long run. Your teeth shift and drift with age. Braces also mark up your enamel and leave wierd glue marks on your teeth. I hate to be mean, but only the welfare kids and the school teachers kids had braces. I suppose because I wasn't raised on welfare I didn't get the torture of braces because my parents pulled my extra teeth out. I didn't have insurance as good as the poor kids.
Well, at least our young black men aren't getting their parents' semiautomatic weapons and shooting the heads off of grade school or college kids heads. Like, you know?
