KANSAS CITY LAWYER QUINTON LUCAS FINALLY JOINS THE 3RD DISTRICT AT LARGE RACE FOR CITY COUNCIL!!!
He just filed late last week and now he's already online asking for cash via PayPal . . .
Here's the word according to a Kansas City Insider:
"Lee A. Moore, Treasurer. I think that means Pat Gray is running his campaign, as Lee A. Moore is also Taylor's treasurer. Quinton's site and Taylor's look like they were made by the same person. I always thought Marcus was going to run the campaign. The fact that he might have got Gray on board begs several questions about the alleged double-dealing that Gray was accused of against the (JaxCo???) Vote Yes campaign in support of the Vote No campaign . . . "

As for Quinton Lucas . . . He's the favorite among Kansas City power elite on the East Side who just might be overestimating how well he'll go over on the other, nicer, Northland side of the bridge . . . East side elite politicos might not realize it (because they don't get out there very much) but there are actually A GREAT MANY "well-spoken" (sorry) well-educated and successful African-Americans doing biz in the Northland of KCMO. Therefore, Mr. Lucas isn't as much of a rarity as they might (mistakenly) think.
Fair play . . . I think political insiders always forget how much PEOPLE HATE ALL POLITICOS AND JOURNALISTS IN GENERAL!!!

Mr. Lucas is far and away the bets qualified candidate for this position. He will win.

ReplyDeleteLucas was running for Third District Council seat. Before he's been elected he's already flip/flopped. Guess he didn't want to cause a rift between himself and Reed. Reed seems to think he's a shoe-in. Don't count the others out. Believe half of what you see... and none of what you hear.
Lucas has no experience. Dee does. Not only is he not from the 3rd District but he is a professor and we know how disconnected they are from reality.

ReplyDeleteIgnoring the racists. If Freedom Inc endorses Lucas, that is their call. If there is hell to pay, which I doubt, it won't be Lucas paying it. Now Evans might be hurt, but so goes life. However, it would certainly be about time that F-Inc based their support on quality rather than on "keeping it in the family." Hey, Freedom Inc may not support Evans?? Now, Lucas is half Evans' age, of course he hasn't been around the community as long, but I challenge Evans to prove that she has done more than he has in his short time, for the community or KC overall. She has served on many boards ... boards are generally a waste of time with people often serving just to say they served on the board. I am not saying that was the case with Evans, but ... Let this race be about ideas and about who will be getting things done for this community. We obviously have many racists in our midst, who will they, especially the quiet racists, work most with ... 'cause they're not going anywhere, and we need to play nice with them to get what we need in the (predominately minority) I think anyway - 3rd district at large. My only question to Lucas would be "why?" You've worked hard to get where you are... yet you put yourself through this madness called politics. Maybe he does care. I don't see the benefits otherwise. I'm frankly waiting to hear what the candidates have to say about what they plan to do for this community. I don't care where you went to school, where you work, your race or gender, who you know, who yo daddy, cousin, or uncle is ... one of you please tell me WHAT you plan to do for this community, and HOW you plan to do it.
