As we move closer to another weekend that's hopefully not as violent as the last one . . .
Here's an important public safety notice about KCPD shifting resources . . .
Fox4: "More Kansas City, Missouri Police traffic officers are on Kansas City streets for the first time in four years. Their primary job is to write tickets, but they’ll also be moved wherever necessary."
Deets:
"Traffic officers are revenue producers, their primary job is to write tickets, but Deputy Chief Kuehl says they do much more.
“They’re also responsible for a number of different types of escorts, they handle traffic at crime scenes, they handle accidents on the highways, they handle broken down vehicles on the highway,” Deputy Chief Kuehl explained. “They are a resource for us on the weekends when it comes to additional needs in the entertainment districts and myriad of other traffic functions that change almost on an hourly basis.”"
Meanwhile, rain in the forecast could keep flash mobs in check for this weekend. Developing . . .
Whatever it takes, just keep them East of Troost. Back to Africa would be better.

ReplyDeleteThey may put them on the plaza for a weekend or two, but these officers aren't going to do anything. No one wants to be assigned there especially senior officers like these guys that have been working court security fir the last four years.

ReplyDeletePeople this isn't about the plaza. It is about writing more ticket and generating more city revenue. Anyone who thinks KCPD isn't already subject to local control is fucking crazy.

ReplyDeleteThe traffic cops will end up doing in the Plaza what they did in Westport years ago. Write anything that moves a ticket so they'll cruise somewhere else that's cheaper on their pocket book.
