TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! MAYOR SLY TWEETS VEHEMENT DEFENSE OF KANSAS CITY CRACKDOWN ON LYFT RIDE-SHARING!!!

Take a look at Mayor Sly under attack and tweeting his heart out against Kansas City tech supporters of locally embattled ride-share service Lyft.

Highlights from @MayorSlyJames . . .

There are other issues than fees. Why don't they just comply with the same laws as everyone else? Why should Lyft get a pass?

if you offer a service covered by the ordinances, you do fall under the ordinances.

The Council makes law. I have a vote but it takes 7 to do anything. We don't change laws for one entity.

There are more issues than just payment. All they have to do is comply with our ordinances.

The laws were written before ZTrip or Uber existed. The laws are there because of issues of safety and many public complaints and issues that needed 2b addressed. Our responsibilities include all stakeholders

Now here's the funny . . .

MAYOR SLY FORMERLY CLAIMED KANSAS CITY TECH LOVE BUT CUDDLING UP WITH INTERNETS HIPSTERS CUTS BOTH WAYS!!!

Will this cause the tech crowd to turn on Mayor Sly . . . Not that it really matters, with 8% voter turnout, Stalin could be in charge and get away most stuff.

Still . . . We like that even techie acolytes are now questioning City policy AND the Mayor is working on Saturday in order to defend this town's near monopoly that (like it or not) took the time to get on the right side of city ordinances on this one.

Developing . . .

  1. What does Sly believe in?

  2. I think he needs to let go of a few people he appointed to various "authorities" or at least stop taking them seriously. Staubio and Johnson should be the first to be shown the door.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Whenever someone uses the term "stakeholders" I am dubious.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ah the very people he claimed are going to "Save Kansas City" are now turning against him and showing everyone what a bunch of jack offs and jack asses they really are.

    ReplyDelete
  5. You mean Staubio, Johnson, Bunch, Carlyle, Nugent, etc, etc right 4:35? KC would be better off if these guys were given a one way ticket to Siberia.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sly, doesn't your son need a job? Give him the family limo and he can play his rap CDs to a captive audience.

Fucking this country's quivering asshole until it bleeds for decades under the guise of being the smartest fuckers in the room.

  8. So these are his "advisers" huh?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well Mayor you go out the that FEDERAL facility called the VA and tell those vets they have to walk miles because the DAV is operating an illegal taxi service. Go tell the state they need to tear down those car pool signs and rip up those parking lots. If I were you sir I would ponder my position and be real sure this is the side of the fence you want to come down on. There are limits as to how much of your shit the tax payers are going to tolerate.

  10. Mayor Sly is carrying Bill George's umbrella, isn't that just great? Lots of confidence in City Hall

  11. We're inviting everyone who plays by the rules to join the first official Lyft Safari Hunt tonight.

Get plate numbers, etc. Keep your KCPD number on quick dial, and don't forget you can tweet on KCPD's twitter.

    Fun for the whole family!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lyft Safari essentials. Weapons of choice. Digital Cameras, Smart Phones, Lyft App. Happy hunting!

    ReplyDelete
  13. So Lyft knew the rules, but decided to break them anyway. Not to smart.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Let's all live in a world where we only follow the laws we want and pay the taxes we like. Why is what Lyft wants to do any different than a rancher who does not want to pay fees for grazing his cattle? He does not like that law...

    1. I would agree with you except the Feds backed off Bundy and his wacko militia buddies.

  16. Through the fuckers in jail. Let them try out some heavy Lyfting on a chain gain some where. Get some real work under their belts.

  17. A PLACE FOR REAL NEW YORKERS TO VENT ABOUT THE INVASION OF ATTENTION STARVED, USELESS ADULTS THAT WE KNOW AS HIPSTERS.

You Kansas City folks are welcome to join us at http://diehipster.wordpress.com

  18. If a bar opened up without a liquor license you'd expect the city to cite them. If they kept operating you'd expect the city to shut them down. Why is this any different?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lyft is an internet get rich scheme. Like facebook but with worse press.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't want to work for Bill George. He pays for shit.

    ReplyDelete
  21. the hipster mayor throws a blow to the KC hipster! Oh the irony.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It is always, always, always about control and control of the money.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You choose the liquor license example for a city like KC? They give a liquor license to anyone in KCMO and honestly I don’t care if a place does have one unless they’re causing the kind of trouble people do care about. Not city ordinance BS!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Um, organize your thoughts hipster douche bag.

This is about obeying the rules and the laws of a city where you choose to do business.

And you are completely wrong by the way. Liquor control in KCMO is very strict as well it should be. Lyft is getting thrown out of st louis as well.

This isn't the Internet, when they are on city streets and in traffic there are rules to keep everyone safe. I don't know why you are advocating for a silicon valley company? What have the done for KC? Nothing.

    1. I'd agree if everyone had to follow the laws but we have lawmakers busted with pot, not paying taxes, not having insurance on the vehicle they are driving, ripping off taxpayers for failed businesses and ignoring court order necessitating garnishment, paying off blackmailers for their dick pics with taxpayer money with no consequences for anyone involved and they go on to continue to hold office or bilk others out of money in the name of doing it for the kids...really? Why should the rest of us follow their laws and ordinances?

  25. Sly needs to turn in his collection of bow ties and plaid shirts.
When "innovation" runs headlong into "status quo money", it's not much of a contest.
Kind of like trying to improve KCPS, but still keep the grifters happy or actually addressing east side crime without pulling the funding from all the worthless nonprofits.
About the only thing with lots of density is the space between the hipsters' ears.

    ReplyDelete
  26. TaxiMagic and zTrip are legal and available in KC. Same technology as Lyft. Why does Lyft want special treatment?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Saw a couple trust-funded beardos waving their smelly hipster feet in the air as they were putting together their $80-a-jar of local Zebra urine brined pickles business plan to sell out of an abandoned zipper manufacturing factory downtown. A Lyft car stopped by and took them off somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "There are other issues than fees. Why don't they just comply with the same laws as everyone else? Why should Lyft get a pass?"

If this isn't the FAT man calling the Rotund man FAT.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Is Sly working hard to get the laws changed so the citizens of KCMO can benefit from this new service???

    ReplyDelete
  30. What a douche

    ReplyDelete
  31. The problem is not that Lyft is breaking the law. The problem is Lyft has not greased the right palms.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It appears we have a situation of a GRIFTING negro trying to out GRIFT another GRIFTING negro.

Put it all together, you have GRIFTING NEGRO's.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lyft does not need permission and as KC is about to find out, it ain't lyft, it is KC's illegal ordinances. Some of us remember the cheerleaders praising red light cams. This ride sharing program is about to become another issue where some big fish in a little pond way overstept his authority. KC might want to do their homework and back the fuck off before they get bitch slapped AGAIN.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Exchanging a service for money isn't sharing 10:39. Now go do the world a favor and jump of a cliff and die.

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  35. 10:46 So if I give somebody gas money for a ride I am breaking some law? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  36. In a bizarro world, run by niggers, this is exactly what to expect. From the White House to the State House to the Mayor's office, it's niggers for all. Enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Love Lyft. Used it twice yesterday. They show up. Yellow Cab never does.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So how is this going. Mayor done anything to put these Lyft parasites in line? Or just gone into twitter silence mode?

    ReplyDelete
  39. 10:46 You are not "The World" and you sure as fuck are too fucking stupid to speak for the world cunt breath.

    ReplyDelete
  40. My favorite part of this thread is how the lyft people are claiming that they are going to overturn citywide ordinance of a regulated industry on some sort of constitutional grounds. Lol. Good luck with that.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My favorite part are these guys who get stoned and then try stuff words in people's mouths. Words like "Constitution, Constitutional or Amendment. Hell we all know there is no longer a constitution in Kansas City, dumb ass.
