Chuck: As someone who was in Elizabeth Warren's high school class in Oklahoma City, I can tell you the assumption there was if your family had been in Oklahoma for any length of time you were part Indian (the term we used then). My family was not from Oklahoma (my mother's family has been in Missouri since 1812 and in the country since 1634), so I always assumed we were not part Indian until an uncle said we were. I still don't know the truth about my own family, and I suspect Elizabeth Warren is in the same boat. Much ado has been made of her unverified claims from people who are not familiar (or willfully unfamiliar) with the history of Oklahoma. Remember Oklahoma was Indian Territory until only 70 or so years before Elizabeth Warren was in high school.
