Anyhoo, this is nothing less than a PR propaganda fest.. And possibly one of the least informative events KCMO has ever seen.
What's important here is to realize that the Mayor never won the Northland. He just didn't lose as bad as many people thought he would...So this is pretty much an exercise in political theater with students as props.

Interesting...while justifying spending taxpayer dollars to provide babysitting services...err..."activities" for the rioting hoodlums, the Mayor asked the PHHS student what he does after the stores and businesses close. The student said, "Go home." But the Mayor obviously didn't think that was acceptable for the urban youth, so he went on to explain why we taxpayers have to pay to provide late-night programs.

I voted for the mayor and more or less like some of his effective strategies for encouraging growth within the city. But what I've been most disappointed with (and that's a diplomatic choice of words) is his unwillingness to truly listen to or compromise with people.
ReplyDeleteHe might be able to convince people that if he let's them speak that he is actually considering anything they say or is willing to compromise with them. He has an agenda, all of it is what he believes is in Kansas City's best interest. Much of it is, but we have limited resources and diverting too much of it to certain things without openly discussing it with communities or giving them opportunities to vote on it is enraging. It's hard for me to even appreciate any of his good qualities.
Nice job T. Only one problem with your venture into the future of KC today. You ENDED any chance of EVER being on RUKUS. Hopefully you won't be back North for some time.
