TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! BEHIND THE SCENES: KANSAS CITY LOCAL CONTROL BATTLE BETWIXT MAYOR SLY AND KCPD POLICE CHIEF FORTÉ RAGES!!!
For more than a minute the Mayor and KCPD Chief have been on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to local control.
Not so long ago the Chief put everybody on notice and revealed his opposition to local control.
Obviously the Mayor isn't going to get in a direct confrontation with the police chief but Kansas City Insiders can easily spot The Star doing the Mayor's dirty work with a recent hit piece intended to turn the Council against Kansas City's Chief of police.
We've been advised to look for more attacks against the Chief from Dead Tree Media in the very near future which pretty much originate with Mayor Sly's supporters . . .
Like it or not . . .
ON THE TOPIC OF LOCAL CONTROL INSIDERS CONTEND: ADD THE KCPD POLICE CHIEF TO THE GROWING LIST OF PEOPLE STANDING UP TO MAYOR SLY AND THEREBY FACING POLITICAL PUSH BACK!!!
OR . . . City Manager Troy Schulte gets some company.
Developing . . .
Troy goes next year TKC. You heard it here first.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Forte should shove his foot up James ass and tell him to back off. I run this Police dept, not you nigger.
ReplyDeleteThe Star "hit piece" actually made Sharp and the other members of the public safety committee look completely clueless and inept, which they certainly are.
ReplyDeleteIn a city with over 100 murders year after year, you really have to ask yourself what these councilmembers think they're job is when, as was reported in the editorial, they didn't ask the police chief to report to the committee a single time the ENTIRE YEAR of 2013.
It's actually a very good demonstration of why we SHOULDN'T want local control of the KCPD.
And by the way, Jermaine Reed is on this committee.
Its easy to tell where Sly's allegiance lies. After all how many police department shirts has he ever worn?
ReplyDeleteNiggers can't even get along with each other!
ReplyDeleteSly wants control so he can steal money from KCPD's budget and give it to his streetcar.
ReplyDeleteHow many times has Sly shown up at a public safety meeting? He doesn't care about murders or midtown. He's got a toy train to build and a fine airport to tear down!
ReplyDeletewe use the Star when we get poop from scooting on our butts and get a stain.
ReplyDeleteI use it for informed opinion not conjecture, which this hit piece sure the hell is.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the bear. A look at that picture tell you all you need to know about the problems of KC.
ReplyDeleteThe Bear rules
ReplyDeleteSly is a Bully and always wants his way I admire the Chiefs resolve.

That POS Schulte should have been fired YEARS ago. He should actually be in prison for his shady accounting skills in KCMO.
Ask St. Louis officers what they now think of local control. Worst decision ever made and they will tell you so. I have several friends on the PD over in St. Louie and that whole things was a pension grab. They also forced officers onto the city's health trust as another "cost saving" measure. Once this city's PD is taken over by the political machine, we will never get it back. More cities would love to have the set up we have here. Wake up Kansas City! Don't be lured into Sly's propaganda and double speak. The city's PD is just fine the way it is.
ReplyDeleteHere's one more standing with Chief Forte.
ReplyDeletethe Bear supports the Chief !
ReplyDeleteYael with his nose up the Mayor's ass blaming the four city councilmen for not talking about murders more. How about the police board Yael? That's where the responsibility lies, not with the council. And stop being the Mayor's bitch!
ReplyDeleteThis mayor is a micro-manager. He has to have his hand in everything. The reality about the way our city government works is that the strength of our mayor really depends on how assertive his personality is. The separations of power are in place precisely so when we have an incredibly assertive mayor like we do now, he can't always have everything he wants just because he wants it.
ReplyDeleteGood for Forte for sticking up for the KCPD. For all the good things about Mayor Sly James, that guy needs to hear "NO," a lot more often.
KCPD needs a new culture initiated by a Chief from the outside. State must maintain control AND must monitor the police board to make sure the department is untouchable by local political and criminal influences. Dinosaurs need to be gone and the culture of policing needs to step forward about 30 years. Those who can not change need to find a new home. This department still functions like a heard of old street bulls. Barking does not replace modern police technique. Its 2014 people.
ReplyDeleteWhy is KCMO so corrupt? Its old school mob type mentality. KCMO deserves this bullshit for electing the wrong people over and over again.
ReplyDeleteThe comment about Sly bullying people to get his way is right on the money.
ReplyDeleteWhat's sad is that he pushes and twists arms for fulff like the streetcar, but when it comes to murders, "his hands are tied" unless he's made a strong mayor, gets local control fo the PD, and the legislature in Jeff City tightens the gun laws.
Nothing at all to do with the structure of the KCMO government and everything to do with what's important to this mayor and council.
So if you're concerned about your and your family's safety, either you're on your own or better yet, move out of town.
A city that works.
Just not for you.
Sly best get ready for a tough fight at the poles.
ReplyDeleteSly can't control his thug 22 year old son how can he rum a police dept
ReplyDeleteSly wants to control the police department so his 22 year old son can act like a thug and not get arrested.
ReplyDeleteSly and his goons want working class people money.
ReplyDeleteThey want to crawl around middle class wallets and take the money away.
sly, looking out for the little guy. Not!
looks like the bear already used that paper to me.
ReplyDeleteYou know why Tony suddenly has such a high opinion of Chief Forte?
ReplyDeleteBecause Rita Valenciano (aka Tony's mom) is now working for him.
And if Mommy likes the chief, so does Tony.
Yet the Chief has said absolutely nothing about the land grab they call the East Patrol project. The locals controlled that. The Chief is half asleep on some things and as alert as a bloodhound on others. Follow the money.
ReplyDelete6:31 AM Sly is the one who will be gone in a year. You heard that first here, TKC. Schulte will still be on the staff even though I agree he hasn't been as bright as he could be but another term of Sly James is much worse than hanging on to Schulte.
