Kansas City red light cameras are kaput for now thanks to recent court rulings and constant public lobbying from grassroots Liberty activists.
However, there's no denying that the City Hall budget in KCMO needs the cash desperately and the move is on to get these cameras back in working order and delivering revenue.

Thankfully the dude survived.
What you probably missed amid the crash nasty is that the biker was making an illegal left turn on Southwest Trafficway and 39th Street. Not that anybody deserves to be taken out for a minor offense.

ReplyDeleteAss clown on bike weighs 200 lbs, taxi cab weighs 4,000 lbs. Who the fuck on a bike swings a left turn in front of a fucking taxi cab? Speeding or not, running a light or not, you have to realize the collision of forces is not in the cyclists favor. And making a left at that intersection in illegal anyway. Was the cyclist ticketed?

ReplyDeleteI really am sorry the guy was hurt, but the mindset of thiese "bikers" on Wornall and other very busy roads is insanity. The law is written on a piece of paper and rhetorical, philisophical arguments at the 75th St Brewery concerning right of way and "Crazy angry drivers" is of little comfort, I would think, to the dead, injured and terrified "Bikers" traversing these busy city streets in and out of rush hour, whose number comes up.
ReplyDeleteIf the Taxi driver gets a ticket and his insurance company pays out, who the fuck cares? Dude is still crippled for life and the beat goes on. The guy did actuall make an illegal left turn and the taxi was infact speeding.
Who cares? Use your fucking head and get off of the streets, or do a better job of looking out for huge objects with tens of thousands of foot pound pressure heading your way.

ReplyDeleteThe cab wasn't doing 70 mph judging by how quickly he pulled over and stopped. And the cab hit the guy and got pulled over all before the light went red. If the bicyclist gets healed up good enough to ride again, I suggest he look before making illegal turns.
