During this revolution around the Sun, the stories we helped to tell were more amazing than ever . . .
A few highlights . . .
I found myself having just a bit too much fun yelling at Kansas City Nazis this year along with a rambunctious crowd that included some of the most strident opponents to local hate.
Before any other media outlet . . . The TKC Blog Community stood against Nazis in Kansas City.
But some of it was bitter sweet . . .
Former Mayor Wheeler's estate sale and bankruptcy was kind of a bummer and reminded us that even the most brilliant and accomplished Kansas City denizens can be left without much at the end of their careers.
Mixed review . . .
Credit to real newsies of course . . . But we blogged the Kansas City Councilman Manchicken drama before anybody else and we had lots of fun pushing this story throughout the year.
But it wasn't all bad news . . .
Very often politicos in Kansas City do the right thing. This year Missouri State Reps from Kansas City Brandon Ellington and John Rizzo helped to raise money and awareness to feed the homeless. Rep. Rizzo in terms of public safety and Rep. Ellington in terms of community building offer the brightest hope for Kansas City's urban core from a new crop of elected officials.

TKC might not be to your liking but the blog still uncovers lots of wrong doings in city and county government and politics. The commenters are a different story, but TKC isn't obligated to screen them. Ignoring them will cause them to drop off. Several already have.

People I know well enough to know that the things said about them are not true and that they don't comment here. Too bad, because their comments would be an improvement over what exists. And since when is what we are obligated to do the same as what is the right thing to do. As I said, Tony provides the forum and allows it to continue. There are other ways and he knows this.
