TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY BRIGHT SIDE: TOP FIVE REASONS TRANSFERS OUT OF THE KCPS MIGHT BE A GOOD THING!!!

Right now let's teach a lesson to all of the doom and gloom politicos who don't have a clear understanding of the recent Missouri Supreme Court School Transfer ruling.

To wit . . .

CHECK THE TKC TOP FIVE REASONS SCHOOL TRANSFERS OUT OF THE KCPS MIGHT HELP KANSAS CITY IN THE LONG RUN!!!

Sadly, this is an alternative perspective that won't appear in any other local publication because mostly "progressive" newsies are too busy repeating Missouri Democratic or Teachers' Union talking points.

So here's the real deal . . .

1. KCPS Blights Neighborhoods And Fewer "Scholars" Would Improve The Quality Of Life In Kansas City Proper

Suburban schools taking on Kansas City "scholars" would offer a welcomed respite to local neighborhoods enduring far too many students traipsing past their homes and causing more than a bit of trouble on their way to and from unaccredited schools. In the long run, closing more schools and tearing down the remains would end a longstanding legacy of failure that has only served to help drive down home prices throughout the community.

2. Transfer Students Don't Always Drain Precious Kansas City Resources

Every day police and fire are constantly called to deal with KCPS problems like arson and student violence . . . All by itself, Southwest makes more than 50 calls for outside emergency assistance a year. When "scholars" transfer out . . . This kind of thing becomes the problem of another municipality.

3. Fact Check - Accredited Schools Are Better Than Unaccredited School - Duh!

This fun fact is getting lost in the mix . . . The effort to trap KCPS "scholars" in an unaccredited district is doing nothing less than depriving those students of a better education in service of an endless political battle betwixt left vs. right that seems more than willing to sacrifice the education of yet another generation of Kansas City residents.

4. Let's Not Delay The Inevitable

This week all the rage has been focused on Commish Nicastro making plans to take apart the district anyhoo and without much regard for so-called "stabilization"  . . . Meanwhile, we acknowledge the valiant efforts of  some KCPS Insiders and folks doing thankless work . . . But this is a disaster 30 years in the making and sometimes it's important to simply start over and move forard.

5. One Kansas City . . . Like It Or Not

Funny. Every time suburbanites want KC to take on another tax burden we hear a lot about "one KC" and metro-wide unity . . . But now that local students need access to better educational resources that sentiment has been stifled by the very same politicos who promote this kind of civic garbage when it comes to development schemes. School Transfers offer an opportunity to put the "One KC" theory into action and demonstrate that confining a problem to the urban core is not only despicable but also impractical given the reality of our interconnected world.

For these reasons and so many more, it's important to realize that school transfers upheld by the Missouri Supreme Court represent an opportunity for Kansas City and not just another example of a local institution in decline.

  1. This post is far too cheeky.

  2. I think you make some good points, Tony. If its about the students, then you must allow the transfers. Forcing someone to attend a non-accredited school (especially against their wishes) is just as wrong as segragation was wrong. The rights of the students are being violated.

  3. Wrong. You'll just push people further south. Or to different cities altogether.
Parents do not see their children as sociological study fodder.

  14. The KCPS district was created by the WHITE people of Kansas City. Its part of the old segregation model. The students have a constitutional right to an education. A non-accredited school is by definition inferior. Your 1950's mentality does not change the fact that forcing the students to attend an acknowledged inferior school is unconstitutional, as well as morally wrong.

  18. Byron, as long as you are crediting White people with the creation of this district, go ahead and give them credit for inventing pretty much everything else in the whole world, while laggards like you and the grifters that now run eveything, sat on their asses and benefited.

  21. Why should my tax dollars pay for a free ride for kids who live in other districts? My tax dollars should be spent in my district for residents of the district. If the KCPS kids want to attend schools in my district, their parents should make the effort to move here, just like I did.

    ReplyDelete
  22. They should close down the KCPS school board completely. They should then turn over the running of the school district to a business, management of the money, hiring and firing, creation and maintenance of the curriculum, testing standards of the students, etc, etc, etc....

I'm willing to bet the district would be accredited in a timely fashion.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 10:15 AM....My tax dollars pay for a failing school district. I've always lived in Jackson country and paid more than my fair share to maintain a district that spends more money per student than most private schools. If a parent wants to send their child to another district, I have no problem with my money being used to pay for that transfer and resultant education.

  24. All the blather aside, the real issue being considered here, is where to send the niggers. Yes niggers. It's always about them and how not to offend them or treat them poorly. Fuck em, send em to the moon!

  29. the heart of the kcsd matter is money. I cut n pasted this from the fox 4 site:

by “paying” for the fleeing scholars, does that mean the (lots of money) per student per (some time frame) that DESE pays KCPS to educate children follows the transferring student to his new school?

If the answer is ‘yes’, then cries of probable bankruptcy are disingenuous, to say the least.

If the answer is ‘no – KCPS has to pay (lots of money) from (another revenue source entirely)’, what is that revenue source and how is it funded?

I haven't seen the answer to the guy's questions. anyone else?

  35. I was born and raised in Detroit. I lived there until 1999. I was a dyed in the wool liberal. I watched as the city I loved, and a city my ancestors established, fall into ruin. I wept at the sight of lovely homes falling into disrepair. I wept as verdant boulevards became refuse dumps. I was shocked to my very core at what happened to the city's libraries. I have seen Cleveland, and Baltimore. I have viewed the devastation of Newark, but, the devastation of Detroit has far exceeded even these. Detroit was truly a jewel. Fabulous architecture by Albert Kahn (including factories!)Maybe "Detroit" will come back. However, any new Detroit will be nothing but a lifeless hull, shorn of its most magnificent architecture, and its original joie de vie of its French founders. ( I might be French, but I sure as hell don't know how to spell it; cripes, I hope I said joy of life in French). To sum up my experience with Blacks: YOU CAN NEVER WIN. You are wasting your time on them. It is not possible to be friends with them, unless you consider walking on eggshells a friendship enhancement. I finally had to ask: How is it possible that this group of people have lived in this country, read the same textbooks, watched the same T.V. and movies, listened to the same music, played the same sports, and yet, have still been the most unassimilated group of people in this country? For the longest time, I was firmly of the belief it was the fault of Whites. No longer. The fault is theirs and theirs alone. They are not compatible with Western Civilization, period. Their genetic background is not capable of fitting into civilized society. There will be no closing the gap. Pre-school education is futile. The only solution is to change their DNA, but, that would only change them into Whites brain wise, so what, exactly, would be the point? It would make more sense to pour money into making Whites smarter. By the way, the population of Africa is expected to explode in the next fifty years. What do you think will happen?

  36. Back in the mid 1960's my liberal parents believed the Multi-cultists lie that Diversity was a Joy and Multiculturalism was a strength. So when blacks started moving in, we stayed long after most of our white neighbors moved out. It was a huge mistake. Our Detroit neighborhood went from a beautiful, well kept, clean and safe place to raise a family, to a crime ridden hell hole within a few years years. Finally moved, and took the huge property value loss, after several break-in attempts, two stolen cars, vandalism (rock through our front window, slashed tires), racist physical assaults, anti-white racist name calling, and the nude mutilated body of a young blond white woman was dragged and thrown up against our house like a piece of discarded trash by a black male (later arrested and convicted). After the police and coroner removed her body, I was left to hose off the trail of her blood and fecal matter off our sidewalk and front lawn...my now no-longer-Liberal parents were finally convinced it was time to get out. And I will wear the physical scars to my grave.

Now live, and raised a family on acreage in an all white rural neighborhood in the country, were after over 30 years we had only one "crime" on our road...a neighbor was fined for burning leaves without a permit.

A bit of advise from someone who knows through in-your-face blood-on-the-ground experience. If you are young, work as hard as you can; sacrifice, and scrimp and save every penny. Not so that one day you can afford the luxuries you've always wanted, but so you can afford to move as far away as possible from these black social experiments and their Liberal Democrat enablers! They are destroyers of life, liberty, safety, happiness and Western Civilization.

  43. Hi, it's the n-word guy! Ya know, I've read a lot of comments and thought about the "common problem" quite a bit through the years, but never, ever have I read anything with the sincerity and quality that 12:38-12:39 "KC = Detroit" wrote on this comment page. This piece came totally from some one's heart and soul and describes the "social experiment" so much better than anything else. Also, this person didn't descend to my level and refer to them as "niggers", which I do so freely. Well done, whomever wrote it. Thank you for an excellent column.

  46. So, for most of you, this is still about segregation. The constitutional rights of the students are being violated. I don't see how you can get around that. You may wish with every breath that Jim Crow were resurrected, but it isn't going to happen. The courts made you do it, but you still haven't accepted it & you try to obstruct it as much as you can. Giving the young people in the urban core a real education will solve a lot of the problems there. Your attempt at segregation will only make things worse.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The majority students that graduated in the past 30 years are doing well because they were not used as guinea pigs and tested for slaughter in the last slave state of Missouri.

  48. KC=Detroit nails it. Ever notice the white people who call others racist never live in the hood? The only black people they see are on TV. If you have ever worked or lived around a large number of them you will change your mind. My dad, who went to Paseo tried to tell me but I wouldn't believe him. That is until I worked around a lot of them one summer for Belger. Their worthlessness was beyond belief. And at college numerous times I saw five black guys beat up the drunkest, littlest 18 year old freshmen they could find. They bring death and destruction every where they go. Buy a house at 35th & Benton if you don't believe me.

    ReplyDelete

    1. You mean the only people of color YOU see are on tv. My white family and I have lived a few blocks from 35th and Benton for 10 years and never had a problem. Several of our white friends have moved into the urban core over the past few years. Screw you, we are living the American dream as GOD intended. Now go back to fantasizing about black women and envying the black male penis with the rest of your creepy friends for thou protests too much.

  49. Byron, no one's trying to obstruct anything. If anything, we'd like to see some return on our multi-billion dollar investment. Our property taxes doubled 30-some years ago supposedly to fix the problem; they haven't gone down since. Much of that money went to graft, not education. If you think people who pay for the public schools also want to pay to put their kids in private schools, then there must be some funny stuff in the water in West Virginia. Just as an FYI, many of the people who put their kids in private or charter schools or just flat move out of the district are blacks and Hispanics. After all, they want their kids to have an education. It's not always about black and white. Maybe you need to take a trip here so you could actually study the issues you go on about. You remind me of the monks who used to copy botany text drawings without bothering to go out and look at the plants they were writing about.

  50. Actually, 6:18, there is an integrated community forming in that area. It's been in the Star. There are some very nice homes in that area, and I know that because I've gone to some estate sales there. The guy who started the "Tulips on Troost" plantings also moved there not too long ago.

  52. If you EVER live around niggers for any length of time, you'll soon find out how inherently evil they really are. Once again, the best description of niggers is that they are indeed, a cancer on all of civilized society. Niggers haven't invented anything, discovered anything or even a built a functional society EVER. All you need do, is look at an indepth, unbiased look at African history and see just how wonderful these "things" really are.
