Cleaver brings authenticity to the table and getting his statement out there proves his connections to Africa through his cousin who is in exile and by his ideology. This makes the Congressman more valuable as a political chess piece for President Obama or Hillary in 2016. Sad and sorry that your regular racist and weirdo readers don't know the game.

The women of South Africa now have a higher chance of being raped than learning how to read. Murder rates following the end of apartheid are also some of the highest in the world especially in comparison to the United States. “ Interpol recorded the per capita murder rate in the USA as 6 per 100 000, while in South Africa it was 59 per 100 000.”
On top of the record high crime rates, South Africa is currently in a state of “functional decay” according to experts. “30% of roads are in a bad or very bad condition… the average age of the locomotives is 35 years..the country’s water purification works show that some 56% of the 821 plants are either in a critical situation or do not function properly. This implies that millions of liters of sewage waste – not treated or purified – are dumped in rivers and streams.”
South Africa’s prison system has the second highest percentage of prisoners per capita of any nation. This is unsurprising considering South Africa having the highest percentage of “assaults, rapes, and murders with firearms in the world.” Rape, sodomy, drugs, and the nearly 20 percent HIV infection rate in the civilian population has resulted in 41.4 percent of inmates having AIDS or HIV.

ReplyDeleteON NOVEMBER 18th 1993 a gathering of South African political groups of virtually every stripe approved a new constitution, enshrining equal voting rights regardless of race. Nelson Mandela would not be elected president until the following spring but apartheid was over. Ever since his release from prison in 1990 the momentum towards black rule had been unmistakable. Most whites accepted the loss of power yet fretted that extreme violence and economic breakdown lay ahead. Black-on-black quarrels were taken as alarm bells. By the end of that decade, perhaps a fifth of the whites had emigrated; others withdrew to suburban ghettos to enjoy a braai—Afrikaans for barbecue—on weekends among their kin.

In the beach community of Kommetjie, near Cape Town, the all-white residents euphemistically talk of “sustainability” and “protecting our cultural heritage” in the face of an expanding slum on their doorstep. In Johannesburg, a wealthy property owner in a mostly white suburb recalls talking to his neighbour, a black entrepreneur with a smaller house and garden. “He tells me his house is worth more than mine and I ask why, man, why would that be, look at my house and at yours, and he says, ‘Yes, but I don’t have any black neighbours’.”
Two decades after the end of apartheid many whites see their country ebbing still further away. Afrikaners, those of mainly Dutch descent, who still make up 60% of whites, mourn the steady demise of Afrikaans, their ancestors’ language. Its throaty tones are no longer heard in the public sector, and most universities have stopped holding lectures in Afrikaans. For the ANC the change is symbolic. Afrikaans was the language of apartheid. In exile in Zambia and Britain its leaders spoke English.

It is absolute segregration of all parts of society by law.
He fought it and was imprisoned for approx 28 years.
He was freed and the country removed apartheid and Mandela was President for 5 years.

Their income per person is still highest but South Africans of Indian descent (under 3% of the population) are catching up fast and will eventually overtake them. White poverty is growing. Perhaps 10% live below the poverty line. Destitute whites in rags beg on street corners. All-white squatter camps have sprung up, with residents in shacks made of sheet metal. They survive on odd jobs and complain that poor blacks get more help from the government. Breyten Breytenbach, a writer and anti-apartheid campaigner, has sympathetically chronicled their plight.

They grouse about ANC cronyism and corruption as well as “black economic empowerment” rules which benefit well-connected blacks more than the masses. White-owned businesses above a certain size must share control with blacks. This is meant to make up for unfavourable treatment during apartheid. In reality it bolsters a new black elite.
White disgruntlement has spawned some vile but mostly harmless extremist groups. A pop singer, Steve Hofmeyr, recently led a “Red October” march to protest against a “genocide” of whites. A few weeks later a court sentenced five leaders of a group calling itself “the Boer Army” each to 35 years in prison for a white supremacist plot to assassinate Mr Mandela and drive blacks out of the country. AfriForum, a “human-rights group”, goes to court to defend whites’ “minority rights”.

Thank you for this post, as it clears up some confusion that others have had when coming across the word "nigger." Most readers automatically assume the writer is using it as a racial slur in reference to blacks, and oftentimes will tune out. This post demonstrates it's usage as a term referencing those who are losers, deadbeats, braggarts, etc.
This perhaps helps explain why you oftentimes hear black youth deriding each others as niggers.

The rise in the murder rate was slight, at 0.6%. But the number of attempted murders rose by 6.5%, violent house robberies by 3.6% and carjackings by 5.4%. Drug-related crime rose by 13.5% and truck hijackings by nearly 15%.
South Africa has some of the world's highest rates of violent crime, with casualty figures mounting like those in a small war. The country had slowly whittled down its murder rate since 1995, but this year's marginal increase raised fears that the battle against crime may have stalled.
The Institute for Security Studies, a South African think tank, said the figures were presented in a "vague" manner, making analysis difficult. Only the percentage change was provided, without the raw figures.
