TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS REVEAL TOP 5 SIGNS OF TROUBLE FOR EXEC MIKE SANDERS AMID TRANSLATIONAL TAX VOTE!!!
Like it or not, public opinion and civic organizations are rising up against the proposed Jackson County Translational sales tax.
To wit . . .
JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS OFFER EXCLUSIVE INSIGHT INTO HOW RECENT TRANSLATIONAL TAX NEWS IMPACTS THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE!!!
We'll make this quick and dirty . . .
1. This is the FIRST time the newspaper has endorsed against Exec Mike Sanders - He has enjoyed Dead Tree Media support so far but on this issue he has been abandoned by Yael and the rest of the editorial board.
2. Mayor Sly Stays Winning Exec Mike Sanders - Another trend - Kansas City's Mayor Sly James is now the favorite political son of this town and it seems that The County Exec fared far better while the mainstream media was attacking former Mayor Funkhouser.
3. Jackson County Exec Mike Sanders is on the hook for this tax whether he likes it or not - Yes, he has been keeping a low profile but this tax issue is his "baby" one way or another. If he doesn't win, friends at the Civic Council, The Chamber and so many other big money interests are going to be suspect of his influence.
4. The Translational Tax is losing in Eastern Jack 2-1: Long, long ago . . . Eastern Jack was once a stronghold of Mike Sanders before he won the adoration of the Midtown Kansas City Democratic elite. Now, denizens of his old stomping ground don't seem to have much in common with Exec Sanders.
5. The Jackson County Urban Core Rebellion - After years of African-Americans being passed over for top Democratic positions . . . The opposing stance from Freedom, Inc. and so many others could be seen as political comeuppance that has been a long time in the making.
For these reasons and so many more, this vote is important to the Jackson County Executive and it's not unfair to note the he's trailing in this election race so far.
Developing . . .
TKC, you are forgetting that low voter turnout will win the day for him. Always has!
ReplyDeleteWhat does he think of unsolicited bulk e-mail?
ReplyDeleteThe Star turns on everyone Mike is just another victim of Yaels follys.
ReplyDeleteMike picked a loser this time.
ReplyDeleteYou can blame Sanders, but let's not forget the cowards on the Jackson County legislature who were stampeded into voting to put this scam on the ballot with barely two weeks to even try to understand what was forced on them.
ReplyDeleteThere wouldn't even be a vote on this in November if JaCo elected some folks who were interested in actually representing the residents instead of playing to the big money and worrying about what they were going to run for next.
Sanders hired Slys consultant and then the Citizens Assc went against the tax.Sounds likes a doublecross.
ReplyDeleteThe legislature is a rubber stamp.
ReplyDelete". The Jackson County Urban Core Rebellion - After years of African-Americans being passed over for top Democratic positions ."
ReplyDeleteJesus, this mantra just will not stop. What a lie.
THE MAYOR IS BLACK.
THE WHOLE CITY IS RUN EITHER IN FACT BY, OR DE FACTO, BY BLACKS.
You know, kinda like Detroit Lite.
The Money is flowing in this Campaign so I hope Sanders is payed well for this Black eye.
ReplyDeleteThe Legislature has made a major mistake with this tax ,maybe this will make them break free of the strangle hold Sanders has on them.
ReplyDeleteYael now has almost completed the circle of screwing everyone he had supported.
ReplyDeleteFreedom finally has gotten their. Integrity back.
ReplyDeleteNo New Tax
ReplyDeleteWith a targeted GOTV, this thing passes no sweat
ReplyDeleteSanders and the county legislature wasted a million dollars of taxpayer money on an election they will lose. The so called civic leader will spend 1.5 million in a losing cause.
ReplyDeleteI hope voters will remember this at the next election. I also hope that citizens remember the crony capitalists that pushed this thing. Perhaps its time to organize a boycott of Chamber of Commerce members. If the membership of the Chamber can't control the idiots that run it they should resign their membership.
I am so tired of these taxes , why do have the Kaffman foundation.
ReplyDeleteDoes Sanders ever do any County Government work? He spent all summer getting ready to throw a party for a renovated building in Independence. Now he is all wrapped up in this campaign to raise taxes so that a handful of private companies do not have to borrow money to make money. Does he ever report to work?
ReplyDeleteThis one is going down like a porn actress. It is losing big in the corridor too. But you know, Sanders has ever actually had anything to do with a competitive campaign. He only knows how to write checks to consultants. He has no political sense whatsoever because he has never even been actively involved in a competitive race.
ReplyDeleteTony I agree with most of what you posted except for Freedom Inc. That endorsement usually goes to the group that gives the most unreported cash to Rodney Bland. My guess is that Brad Bradshaw made a pay-off there.
ReplyDeleteWill Theresa Garza suffer in her City Council race because she voted for this loser tax?
ReplyDeleteRodney Bland is one fucked up dude. who knows the true story about the incident that MAY have caused a legal wrangle? some lady was said to have been involved. maybe Maryville isn't the only small city where loser politicos cash in their small change chips?
ReplyDeleteThis is typical of every jaded politician, first help others then themselves.
ReplyDeleteTheresa will have this luggage to carry in the general election. This could be her Waterloo also.
ReplyDeleteFreedom did the right thing. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteThis Tax is the worst, putting millions of public dollars in for profit companies no way.
ReplyDeleteTheresa had to vote for this so she could get the Civic Council support for her Council run.
ReplyDeleteJackson County, stay in your field of governance. Thrilled that Freedom, Inc. refused the financial offer! What's the Legislator James Tindall and Rev. Modest Miles' deal in support of the tax?
ReplyDeleteMiles got an appointment from the Governor to the Sports Complex. Tindall will get his through getting to keep his job even though he is a felon.
ReplyDeletePlease vote yes. Baldness is a very very sad thing. It leads grown men to hide under unconvincing rugs. Modern medicine should find a cure for baldness before afflicted men face statewide election in 2016. The tax payers of Jackson County have to do this. They just have to.
ReplyDeleteRuiz Garza and Williams just do what they're told. Since they fall in they will probably be ok. Too bad but probably so. You know - all that grrrrl power and all.
ReplyDeleteWilliams was toking with Lisa Honn Bindley and Jeremy LaFaver before the vote so she is not really sure how she voted.
ReplyDeleteWTF was Honn doing in the Courthouse a yesterday?
ReplyDeleteDouble-cross? Was Mike double-crossed? Wow - being punched back in the same game that he had seemingly mastered. That fat greasy rug-wearing fuck.
