Thankfully, it seems that there's an organized effort gaining momentum that hopes to call out Pastor and Councilman Brooks for his recent sexting scandal.

A Kansas City insider says this . . .
"It's a neighborhood movement at this point but they seem to be strongly motivated and they're gaining the interest from more established groups. But in the end, this needs to come from 5th District neighborhoods who have long complained that Pastor Brooks has been ineffective. This scandal is just the tipping point."
We'll have more on this controversy as it develops but we just wanted to be the FIRST to note consequences for the shameful behavior of the Pastor and City Council dude.

ReplyDeleteThis recall will be more difficult than you expect TKC. Let's remember that this has never happened before and it takes a seasoned veteran to draft the petition. Do these community activists have what it takes? THAT is the real question. They're going to need help. If it's just a few people and their friends, it won't survive. They will need approval from more organized leaders and they better talk to the unions to make sure they're okay with it. If that doesn't happen than this recall attempt will fail and Councilman Brooks will get stronger.

We, the undersigned, petition the city council to place on the next election ballot the question "Should Michael Brooks be removed from office?"
We charge Michael Brooks with malfeasance in office. We cite his gross misuse of city property namely the city cell phone used to transmit images of his erect penis.

We are in agreement that Michael Brooks has performed his duties in office in such a way as to render his performance ineffective.

He has not communicated to his constituents the true nature of his involvement with the $15K, nor has he imparted the needed information regarding his claim of blackmail. This claim was recorded by local media outlets.
We charge Michael Brooks with using the legal system to hide from hard questions from residents who reside in the 5th District.
