KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS CONFIRMED TONIGHT!!! BLOG NEWS FIRST: P&L DISTRICT $14.3 MILLION SHORTFALL FOR 2013!!!

As always, we give credit and pay homage (sadly no cash) to THE KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER BLOG COMMUNITY for highlighting info that Kansas City mainstream media buried or didn't want to share.

To wit . . .

KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS TOLD US FIRST THAT THE P&L DISTRICT WOULD LOSE $14 MILLION THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF THE USUAL $12 MILLION TRAVESTY!!!

NOW KCPT HAS CONFIRMED THIS IMPORTANT DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE FINANCIAL DETAIL!!!

It's good to care about this town's budget solvency . . .

It's also nice to be right . . . Again.

Take a look:

Power and Light District - The Local Show

Fast forward or enjoy all of the hype but @ around 6:30 the real deal is revealed.

Here's the money quote . . .

"Still, despite all those new diners and dancers, shoppers and tenants, the district's smooth ride did hit a speed bump this year with news of a fiscal shortfall. The $350 million project designed to pay its way through sales and property taxes came up $14.3 million short . . ."

This is important news that AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS told us about many weeks ago!!!

This fact has been hidden by the mainstream media but touted by this blog community given that out city seems to be headed toward bankruptcy as we subsidize one party after the next.

Hopefully, we'll have more news, discourse, hateration and all kinds of good stuff for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

God bless ya Tony,,, while waitin for your "mobile" page to load.... I only had to guess which A-bomb pic you'd use... It'd mke more sense (both financially and spiritually) to have the populus submit their own images or to let us vote on the most apprpriate...

    Please advise....

  4. City leadership was overheard to say...."$14.3 Million short? No worries, we'll make it up on volume!"

  5. When your target demographic is douchebags, that's what happens. Rednecks, headbangers, and bikers are your biggest liquor consumers. I happen to be all 3. I've been to P&L once, and I was as out of place as a whore in church....so after ONE way overpriced beer, I went back to Knuckleheads.

  6. Mobile site loaded quick for me, but I ain't gonna blame TKC for my phone. As for the P&L district, we knew that was a busted deal that first Summer cuz this is just bad getting worse.

  7. Not paying 10 bucks for a drink. I get fucked enough paying an extra couple pennies on the dollar at mcdonalds on Meyer and Troost. Keep piling on these taxes , including this medical tax coming up, and the City will find its tax base moving out the goose who laid the golden egg will be killed , and kc=Detroit

  8. Forgot to add that these couple of pennies are being collected by businesses miles away from P&L- the public just doesn't realize it. Fuck you sly James and the entire shitty council. And the people who don't vote against this public robbery.

  9. Pay your bills at P&L before frittering away your money with a 12M bullshit water consulting deal. KCMO is really a crappy city to live and work in.

  10. It's time to renegotiate!

  11. City hall serves corporations and powerful interests, not the people of this city.
And yes, I would say that in a town hall in front of sly james. its just slightly easier to say anonymously on tonys.

  12. I saw a lot of fat ankles walking into the Sprint Center.

  13. We don't know how well the P@L will do if we ever see a strong and robust economy again

  14. Cordish looks like he has a face carved out of cream cheese

  15. What a disaster. Time to kick Kay Barnes out of office and her clone Sly James.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lets make sure that the same folks who brought you the P&L, bring us the Toy Train and the new KCI!!!

    What a clusterfuck.

  17. That picture, certainly is representative of what happened to the P&L District. There, you have a nigger, holding up a sign saying: "I told you so", and so it is. Niggers and their muggings, shootings, car jackings, etc, have ruined the P&L and they are well on the way to ruining the Plaza, as well.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I still don't understand why I'm supposed to be excited about P&L. It's one city block of restaurants and bars - what in the hell is the big deal except it loses money instead of making money.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 10:50, good point. The couple times I've been there was douchebag central too. Also agree with 7:53, it's nothing but a bar and restaurant district that just happens to be downtown. Big deal. Most of the establishments are the same sorts of places you can find in any strip mall across the US.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Has anyone added up all the tax breaks and subsidies downtown has received in the last dozen years? We build the Sprint Center, P & L District, condos everywhere and now a streetcar. All to raise the value of downtown real estate. Yet the old Commerce Tower building dropped in value from 21 mil to 7.5 mil in the last 7 years. Now the taxpayers are going to sink another 30 mil to make it apartments.

Much of these funds have effectively been borrowed from the pension funds since they are severely underfunded. We may not be Detroit but we are sure trying.

  21. Very often these projects are started and promoted by those who won't be around for the aftermath. I certainly include the Folly Trolly in that equation.

  22. Welcome to Obama's America. The well connected get richer while the masses ignorantly celebrate the one who is enabling it

  23. too bad...probably a new
marketing program for p and l might
get it back on its feet.
    why no more events/programs in
    april thru November..
something every weekend to fill the
    place up.
wevwere down there before springsteen concert and it was
    buzzing.
we need a sports team...we need
    more events...better marketing
    and promotions to bring the
    people down.
    maybe a special transportation
    method from joco....because its
a tough trip to be drinking there
    and driving home...
    do something unique but bring
in a sports team or something to
    fill up another 40-50 dates.
    be aggressive with college sports..
    ncaa tournament...big 12...
    and sec...
but I think new ideas will
    save the p and l....
    thanks.

  24. 2016 can't come fast enough! Can I vote to de-elect Sly James on Nov. 2, 2013?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Maybe they should try to figure out why I live two blocks away and would rather drive across ton to spend my money.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The city could get rid of half the assistant city managers on the payroll and make the shortfall up.
