WILL KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY'S ANTI-GUN RESOLUTION CURB CRIME?!?

Make no mistake, Kansas City Mayor Sly is an elected official who is "anti-gun" by word and deed and regardless of his political spin.

In fact . . .

Mayor Sly might be the first Kansas City politico to come out and openly work for a gun crackdown within city limits. Former Mayor Funky joined "Mayors Against Guns" but the move was largely ceremonial and didn't involve him actively pursing any real legislation or a promise to establish "gun courts" to more swiftly address crime involving firearms.

Now . . . The Council Adopted Mayor Sly's resolution to divest from gun companies. . .

"Mayor Sly James told the council that the goal is discussions with firearms companies on letting cities with gun violence problems enact more restrictive gun control laws within their jurisdictions."

Fox4 on the impact . . . "The resolution is just a suggestion and carries no force of law."

And so, here's an open question . . .

WILL MAYOR SLY'S DECIDEDLY ANTI-GUN STANCE RESULT IN FEWER KANSAS CITY HOMICIDES?!?!?

2nd Amendment enthusiasts argue against the strategy but Mayor Sly seems dedicated to pursing a new crusade against guns and gun manufacturers.

  1. Do strict gun laws in Chicago reduce crime?? He'll no.

  2. Borrowing a page from Obama...hollow rhetoric, meaningless gesture, zero impact on gun violence. It's what politicians do when they lack any ideas or courage to do what's necessary.

  3. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

A non-binding "suggestion" to the City's pension fund administrators that they not do what they already don't do is going to cause firearms manufacturers to discuss firearms restrictions?

What a load of horseshit, Mayor James.

  4. The resolution is nothing more than a PR stunt.

  5. How about we throw this black ass monkey to the curb instead

  9. Rathe Mayor would rather pull a cheap PR stunt that puts the focus on the symptoms than work to cure the underlying disease. Firearms violence is a subset of violence. Violence is an expression of hopelessness, anger, degradation and defiance. And the African American community is responsible for a disproportionate amount of violence in American society. Why?

Quite simply, they are taught all their life that they don't measure up and cannot successfully compete. How is this message taught?

They are born at taxpayer-subsidized hospitals that provide free health care for the indigent. They are given publicly subidized food, housing, and transportation. There are special day care programs and educational programs just for them, again paid for by the government. When it comes time for college, there are special admissions rules that select less qualified, lower-performing black students over more highly qualified students of other races. Special scholarships available only to them pay for their education.

When they apply for jobs, they are again treated differently and given preferential treatment in their hiring. Once in the workplace, there are special rules that dictate they be treated with an exceptional sensitivity lest words or actions potential offend them. There are rules that encourage their promotion over other better qualified employees and that protect them against firing for poor performance. If all else fails, the government is expected to give them a job that hey can only be fired from if they exhibit the most heinous and reprehensible of behaviors.

In society, our practice is to crucify those of other races who use certain words that blacks say are most heinous, but that they themselves use to describe each other. Violence, misogyny, homophobia, and criminality are encouraged and promoted by their "artists", and no less than the Attorney General of the United States sanctions their racially based attacks on others.

Even their sex lives are subsidized through free contraception, free abortions, and free pre-natal and maternity care. Think the baby's daddy is gonna pay to raise that kid? Think again!

So we send all these messages to the black community that they are inferior, unable to care for themselves, deserving of special treatment and special rules just so they can (barely) compete in this world.

And you wonder why they are angry and act out violently? Who is the real racist?

  10. The only way to reduce crime is to change the KCPD from a revenue source to a crime fighting force.

  12. Good 'Ol Sly trying to pull a Kansas City shuffle.

He focuses on meaningless rhetoric while ignoring the real problems in K.C.

It's sad that nowadays a pol like Sly is considered a great mayor by some in this town. Yesterday's average politician is nowadays considered an excellent one just because he hasn't "Carlos Dangered" anyone. Spending city money like it grows on trees.

  13. We need the National Guard to be patroling the streets. And stop and search like in NYC.

  14. fuck you Byron and your idiot thoughts

  15. How can a city with damn near zero police presence in the crime ridden neighborhoods expect crime to drop with absolutely no deterrent anywhere near the problem? Even if the mayor could attack guns in vehicles it will solve little to nothing to work the main streets while some ginned up fuck is blowing someone away in the neighborhood where there is no police presence at night.

  20. I hope the mayor doesnt get to trippin' about some personal issues with stains in his shorts or we could all be walking around with no boxers.

  21. Sly will still get a second term. KC loves him and he know it. Forget it haters. You won't even find somebody who is going to run.

  22. Detroit loved their mayors too.

  23. Really? 16 yo aren't "supposed" to have gun and people aren't "supposed" to take guns on bus. It's the people who don't give a fuck about "laws" that are doing the deeds. You really think making another toothless law or "suggestion" is going to have one damn bit of effect? Really? Another fucking meaningless piece of crap that just shows what a bunch of dumbasses sheepeole some people are. FUCK we are DOOMED.
