Quick question for the midday . . . Consider this recent stat:
STL Makes #4 On 'Most Dangerous Cities In America, 2013' List
Remember that last year STL won local control of its police . . .
TKC BEHIND THE SCENES: Right now there's a similar effort to push local control in Kansas City and it might be a clandestine part of Mayor Sly's Charter Review Committee despite the fact that a very recent and very similar example in STL should demonstrate to voters that the political power play offers little benefit to the public.

There are no actual viable business models in East St. Louis, so they have arguments over the body count v the taxes from all night bars.
What a country.
It probably makes no difference whether there is local control or state control. The KCPD is a failed organization and unless drastic steps are taken it will remain so. Cops don't really want to work that hard, the city cares more about ticket revenue than crime and if the they are too successful in pursuing criminals all the inner city grifters will complain.

For Christ sake, they are starting to WANT apartheid back in South Africa. Tell me the place on Earth that is thriving under black leadership. St Louis? Detroit? Darfur? Tell me the place.
