Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders is back on the fundraising trail to secure his political position and he's getting some help from heavy hitters.

To wit . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS INVITATION TO A PRICY FUNDRAISER FOR JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS TOUTING "SPECIAL GUEST" MISSOURI GOV. JAY NIXON!!!

As always, click the image or this link for a bigger, better view.

What's important here . . .

Kansas City Insiders agree . . . There's really nowhere to go for Jackson County Exec Mike Sanders but the County and his biggest challenge might be "The Curse Of Three Terms" OR Sexy Cindy Circo and her many hairdos.

Better still . . .

THIS "SPECIAL GUEST" APPEARANCE BY GOV. JAY SHOWS US THAT THE JAXCO EXEC. STILL HAS SOME PULL AT THE STATEWIDE LEVEL AND THIS COUNTS AS A BIT OF A VICTORY OVER HIS RIVAL MAYOR SLY!!!

And yes . . .

CAN WE ALL STOP PRETENDING THAT THERE'S NOT A RIVALRY BETWIXT MAYOR SLY AND THE JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE?!?!

They have been at each other's throats indirectly for more than a year.

Just a few examples . . .

- Mayor Sly took in Intergovernmental Relations Director Genaro Ruiz after there was a vendetta against him and everything he was associated with @ The County.

- Like it or not, Insiders know that Mayor Sly's People Helped To Kill Jackson County Commuter Rail - Denial of this fact also denies this rivalry even exists.

- Mayor Sly is on Team Kander - When Missouri SOS Kander didn't get the Prosecutor's Job - That set into motion more than a few behind the scenes grudges.

- Kansas City Political "Girl Power" has been a thorn in the side of Jackson County Exec. Mike Sanders . . . Mayor Sly has supported the "Girl Power" lady politico movement more than anybody else.

- From The Jail, To The Stadiums, To The Media And All The Way To Jeff City - The County And City Hall are in constant competition for influence. Mainstream media denial of this fact is an attempt to keep voters stupid. Simple Fact: Mayor Sly and The Jackson County Executive are in competition and it's heating up as elections get more intense.

Score this round to Jackson County.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. Can Mike win in the long run?

That's what YOU don't know TKC.

  2. IMO, there is no rivalry because both are supportive of the same projects in general, and neither wants the others job. Simple political physics.

However, come back in 2-3 years and we can have the conversation about Sly's popularity. His huburis is catching up with him already.

Team Kander? Sly has noithing nice at ALL to say about Jason. I think the reverse is also now true given Sly's abandonement of Jason in the SOS run.

  3. Let WYCO be our model

Combine their jobs and no more rivalry, lol.

  4. Actually, joining the two governments is a great idea, in theory. The only problem is that NOBODY in the eastern portion of the county wants anyhthing to do with KC. KC's debt and mismanagement issues kill any chance of this to succeed saddly.

  5. Tony is correct on this, it is fairly eye-popping to get the Gov to headline a fundraiser for anyone other than himself. Never seen him do that before.

  6. Gives people something to gossip and chatter about.

  7. What do both of them think of unsolicited bulk e-mail?

  8. What does a lame duck Govenor bring to the table,Mike better worry about local issues like Sly drumming up an opponent for him. He is smart to raise money he will need it.

  9. Sly does not like Sanders.

  10. Whether he likes him or not, it is smart to play nice. There is no profit for either of them to fight publicly. Sanders isn;t going anywhere, and Sly is in a termed office.

Also, Sanders runs in November of 14, Sly in April 2015, six months later. Whatever Sly trys to do he knows he can get returned at a later date. Sly already will have oppoistion from one of his own council members. He isn;t stupid, at least I don't think.

  11. Seriously, I don't believe Sly is "after" Sanders, but if he is, it is a stupid dumb rookie mistake. Sanders is no patsy.

  12. Shame on Mike. He should respect our Mayor.

We are all on the same team and there is too much ego and not enough cooperation.

  13. Sanders for Gov is next. Don't you domb a$$es Know this?

Sly will be done next year. Another Domb A$$ Derron $uc$#R is challenging him now. And guess what? Watch out....Sly will be no better than Funky. So bye bye Sly and Sanders for Governor...

  14. Sly needs to focus on issues within the city and quit looking to pick fights.

  15. "He should respect our mayor".

All should bow before King Sly, and know he is good for he is the chosen one.

  16. Maybe Jay and Mike will use this as a vehicle to come out of the closet like Claire and Barack did. You know, suddenly realizing their true inner feelings.

  17. Sanders is lost without the support of MD R. Alam.
