SHOCK!!! ANOTHER TOY TRAIN PRICE INCREASE!!! STREETCAR NEEDS ANOTHER $58 MILLION+ IN WATER BONDS!!!



The price tag for Kansas City's Toy Train Streetcar seems to be spiraling out of control . . .

Check it:

Streetcar requires $58.7M in bonds for waterworks

KC Biz Journal: "Kansas City’s plans to build a streetcar line will bring some collateral costs: The Water Services Department has begun selling $58.7 million in bonds to pay for water infrastructure improvements. The 25-year bonds will be used to pay for 19 miles of water main replacements, water treatment plant and pump station improvements, and water main relocation and replacement work necessitated by the installation of the city’s 2.2-mile, $102 million streetcar line along Main Street."

Anyone who might be concerned about Kansas City's finances would wonder . . . When will it ever stop?

The Answer: Not any time soon given that Mayor and Council seem enthusiastic about establishing more TDD's across KCMO in order to pass rigged votes.

Meanwhile . . . The only REAL consequence from this eco-devo scheme isn't the transit utopia that politicos and local corporate types have promised but really just Kansas City getting stuck with another bill.

And yet again we get a glimpse of Kansas City "correcting" anyone who dares disagree . . . I'm not "correcting" this headline because our toy train boondoggle is a fact of life no matter how much local government wants to clean up this despicable atrocity against local voters.

    It would be a shame to this $50 million to just go unaccounted for like it another $15k from City Hall.

  12. This is not only an obvious misquote of the article but also a flat-out lie. Only 4.8 mil. of the total is going to lines effected by the streetcar, it says it right in the article.

    If you're upset about the 4.8 mil. being used then then say that, don't lie and create bias.

  16. We'll have 2mi of toy train but the sewers will bust and it will wash away with all the rest of KC's shit. Why not use existing tracks. Why go for the most expensive mode in and area where it will do the least good for people who need JOBS? I agree with spending money to better our infrastructure. I just don't think it's being spent wisely. I have zero confidence in the current decision makers.
