Take a look at an investment in history that will never pay off for Kansas City . . .
Ordinance #130075
"Appropriating the sum of $4,000,000.00 from the Liberty Memorial Endowment for improvement and repair projects at the Liberty Memorial; and designating requisitioning authority."
And while upkeep is important . . . Let's remember that this local "attraction" will never pay for itself like so many other local projects. Yes, yes, investment in culture and museums are supposed to be their own reward but the pricey funding of this tribute to the Great War is just one of many tourist traps currently slaughtering Kansas City's budget.
My grandfather was shot in the guts and mustard gassed at Bellau Woods.
ReplyDeleteTony is right.
Kill that flame, and cut back on the cost of this monument.
It is a world class monument to world class Americans, but in this time of austerity, we gotta watch the pennies.
My grandfather is cool with it.
By the way, it has got to be, the stupidest war in history.
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste.
My grandfather helped build the Liberty Memorial and I too, think that spending $4Mill more on it now, is totally imprudent and improper.
ReplyDeleteagreed
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather thinks you guys are dipshits.
ReplyDeleteYou are all idiots, the money is coming from the "endowment" not the general fund!!!! Not to mention, it honors people who fought for your freedom to write lies on a blog.
ReplyDeleteJust think. Some guy's grandpappy got gassed just so his grandson could grow up too dumb to know what an "endowment" is.
ReplyDeleteThat shot always reminds me of my dick.

ReplyDeleteTony, please take a day to visit the museum. I think you'll see that it is far from a 'tourist trap.' I've been in museums all over the country and this is one of the finest I've seen. First class from the word go. I don't know or care anything about the funding but if the city is involved it must be screwed up. So what? But the museum itself is remarkable, the only one of it's kind in the world
(there's another WW1 memorial in Europe but nothing like this one) Read its history and you might develop an appreciation for the place instead of the scorn you continue to heap on it.
Man 4 Mill is a chunk of change for a Gay hangout. Can't the city just build a bath house or some shit like that?
ReplyDeleteWeird stuff goes on around that place.
ReplyDeleteAn endowment is funds used to permantly support something. Union Station had an endowment that lasted about two years. If the Liberty Memorial is using the endowment to operate then it will be as broke as Union Station in a few years. On the other hand if the endowment is properly managed using some of the earnings for upkeep is proper.
ReplyDeleteThe weird stuff is led by Doran Cart, Director of the World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial who takes pictures of museaum visators and posts them on porno web sites with filthy comments about what he wants to do to them under the name SamFlashBrowne.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I got a fantastic blow job from a white haired gentleman in a three piece suit there. I sat in the passenger seat of his car, he pulled out his teeth and sucked me sooooooooo good!!! Better than any female blow job I had ever gotten.
ReplyDeleteThey should build the Tomb of the Unknown Faggot who died there in the park.
ReplyDelete1:13 That sounds like it might have been Harry Truman. I know he was sucking Pendergast.
ReplyDeleteHey 3:53: Who says Obama isn’t presidential. He took his boyfriend Reggie Love with him on his separate vacation from Moochelle and I bet he blew him and Tiger. Keeping up a presidential tradition.
ReplyDeleteGrandpa caught the Spanish Flu during the Great War. He really had nothing good to say about his experience. That said, grandpa had a great aspiration to get laid. Keep the park, get rid of the brick and mortar is what grandpa would want.
