TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CITY HALL INSIDERS EXCLAIM: NO MORE MONEY FOR P.O.S.S.E YOUTH PROGRAM UNTIL KANSAS CITY'S $15K IS RETURNED!!!
Kansas City has a real need for programs that help and address the needs of youth in the urban core. Both Conservatives and Progressives alike will admit, when administered properly, effective youth mentoring programs EASILY pay for themselves and offer an important services to the community.
P.O.S.S.E (Peers Organized to Support Student Excellence) is one of these programs and, until recently, we've heard nothing but good things about the endeavor.
A brief introduction to the work performed by P.O.S.S.E:
"In his P.O.S.S.E. program, Mr. (Ossco) Bolton provides youth with a specific mission and ensures that they know that they are the agents of change. He begins by declaring to the youth that there is an emergency in their community and that they have to form a posse to become the agents of the changes that are needed. Training sessions on conflict resolution, communication, team building, decision making, life skills, and peer mentoring and service are the necessary components that make the program work."
Again, there's an instinct to attack this program but by most accounts it is regarded as one of the most effective grassroots efforts in Kansas City.
Sadly . . .
NOW THAT THE P.O.S.S.E LEADER, MR. OSSCO BOLTON, IS ON THE HOOK FOR $15K . . . KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEAL THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT NO MORE CASH IS DISTRIBUTED TO THE GROUP UNTIL THE MISSING MONEY IS REFUNDED!!!
Perspective . . .
Even Mayor Sly thought enough of this group to share his beautiful smile with Mr. Bolton in a public photo that was recently posted on Facebook . . .
So . . . As the deadline to return the cash approaches and we wonder if fundraising efforts were successful . . . What's really happening here is that a program that Kansas City youth desperately need might suffer because the grown ups involved have yet to account for the missing cash and a lot of other questions . . .
DEVELOPING . . .
They should get it back today. But maybe the weather will hold them up.

ReplyDeleteNice job picking up that tid bit but the rest of the media is ready to let this one slide.
keep on MB, he needs to ask for the money back.
It seems like a simple lawsuit for breach of contract, something that could be drawn up by someone a year out of law school, would go far in solving this issue.
ReplyDeleteWhy in the fuck to they get money in the first place? My tax dollars should be spent on basic services and infrastructure. WTF
ReplyDeleteWiil Mr. Bolton have to pay earnngs tax on his windfall?
ReplyDeleteNo because the money seems to have gone to Mr. Ron Hunt.
ReplyDeleteThe blame for this falls squarely on the shoulders of Councilman Michael "Mumbles" Brooks. He is the one that shook down the manager for the $15k. He is the one that funneled the money to Ron Hunt. He should take the responsibility and pay the money back.
ReplyDeleteCouncilman Brooks, what ARE you going to do about this mess you created?
