After controversy erupted over Council Dude and Pastor Michael Brooks lobbying the City Manager to the tune of $15K for a community event featuring boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, the fighter who has problems with domestic violence didn't show.
In fact, they didn't even bother to put on the event from what we hear.
To be clear, we're not saying Floyd Mayweather breached any contract, in fact we don't know if the money even made it his way . . . What we do know is that THE EVENT THE CITY PAID FOR DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! And that's the breach of contract we're talking about . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE LOBBIED $15K FOR A COMMUNITY EVENT FEATURING BOXER FLOYD MAYWEATHER AND THAT EVENT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! WORD IS THAT THE $15K WORTH OF TAXPAYER CASH HAS SIMPLY VANISHED!!!
Community activist Ossco Bolton is on record trying to put down the controversy and basically saying it's not really a big deal when compared to a Two billion dollar budget.
But this is a big deal and this controversy represents a major miscalculation by a freshman Kansas City politico.

CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE HAS SAID HE WANTS THE CASH BACK BUT EVERYBODY KNOWS IT'S ALREADY BEEN SPENT!!! SOMEBODY IS GONNA HAVE TO PAY CITY HALL FOR THE NO SHOW EVENT THAT CERTAINLY REPRESENTS A BREACH OF CONTRACT!!!

ReplyDeleteWell, I still like Brooks. As long as Freedom Inc is against him, I am for him. Lord knows, Freedom Inc. has enough religious frauds on their team. So, Brooks must be A-ok. Unwilling to bend to their pull. Good for him. I hope he can work whatever this is out. Sounds like a mess but he will prevail.

ReplyDeleteBrooks is far from ok. Wait until Ron Hunt's involvement is brought to light. And Brooks demanded the money from Schulte; it wasn't a suggestion. As one of Schulte's bosses. Brooks WAY overstepped his bounds. Now the city is $15k poorer, Ron Hun got the payoff he was looking for, Brooks is on schedule to blow his budget, and the 5th district continues to get excellent representation. Almost makes you miss the corruption of Terry Riley. Almost, but not quite.
