VETERANS DAY IN KANSAS CITY!!!

After a few angry e-mails from family, friends and a few strangers we were "encouraged" to celebrate Veterans Day In Kansas City.

Actually, we had planned to anyway . . .

From a local perspective we think Friday news (first put on blast by TKC) regarding Kansas City veterans benefits is probably the most important thing to know locally . . . Even if some of readers have described the bennies as paltry.

But there was a local celebration today that's noteworthy as well: Veterans' sacrifice honored at Liberty Memorial ceremony

The reality on local streets is that there might be fewer homeless veterans but the number is still far too high. Thankfully, "big government" complaints usually stop when we're talking about Veterans benefits that are tragically on backlog.

Of course TKC THANKS all Veterans and nearly died getting this photo of a Golden Ghetto Vets Day tribute which is just a small token of my appreciation.

More later . . .

  4. To me Veterans Day isn't something you per say share with the public to show you did something.

No, to me it's about family together remembering love ones lost and telling those who made it back home alive how much you are thankful for all they have done in keeping us free.

  5. I thought every day was Veterans Day in the Military States of America?

  6. @10:44

I agree with that as well.

  7. Yup! A Veteran in this country gets less benefits than a welfare mother. In spite of the soldiers and sailors relief act Vets seldom return to their jobs and almost never get raises or promotions they should have received under the law. While illegals can get charitable treatment at hospitals Veterans can only sign up for VA care at a VA facility, but can't get treated most of the time because there are no funds. Job training is lip service. In the mean time some politicians walk around blowing smoke up everyone's ass about how they restored Veteran's benefits - total bullshit!
