TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS DECRY DISPARITY BETWIXT ROCK BOTTOM TICKET PRICES VS. TOP DOLLAR PARKING FEES!!!

Kansas City Chiefs fans have a lot to complain about this season and the list wrongdoing against these gluttons for punishment seems to be getting longer every week.

However, only simpletons keep on griping about the lackluster play on the field. Instead, savvy and TOP ECHELON TKC TIPSTERS have told us to do some investigating regarding the Chiefs corporate ground game that offers a glimpse of the reality for Kansas City football fans.

As usual, in Kansas City, every answer can be found by following the money.

To wit . . .

THE MOST INTERESTING COMPLAINT AMONG KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LACKLUSTER PLAY BUT INSTEAD FOCUSES ON THE PRICES FACING THE VAST MAJORITY OF PATRONS WHO JUST WANT TO GO TAILGATING!!!

On the bright side, it's kind of nice to know that the smarter Kansas City Chiefs fans have been finished with the team for quite some time and refuse to be turned into pouty cheerleaders hoping for the next meager accomplishment.

Here's the deal . . .

TOP ECHELON TKC TIPSTERS REPORT THAT FANS ARE NO LONGER ATTENDING GAMES AND TICKETS ARE SELLING FOR AS LOW AS FIVE DOLLARS FOR GOOD SEATS!!!

Wait . . . It gets better . . .

NEVERTHELESS, FANS ARE COMPLAINING THAT THE DRASTIC DECLINE IN MARKET VALUE OF THE TICKETS HAS NOT BEEN ACCOMPANIED BY A SIMILAR DROP IN PARKING FEES THAT REMAIN AT A RATHER STEEP $27 BUCKS FOR THE AVERAGE CONSUMER!!!

And so . . .

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS CONTEND THAT JACKSON COUNTY SHOULD ALSO TAKE A LOSS ON THE HORRIBLE PLAY OF THE CHIEFS AND THERE SHOULD BE A DROP IN PARKING PRICES TO MATCH THE DEEPLY DISCOUNTED TICKETS TO THE GAME!!!

See, in the end everything is political and all of this comes back to the steps of Jackson County - Given that this topic of parking prices falls under the purview of the JaxCo Sports Authority.

Even worse than 5 bucks for decent seats by way disappointed scalpers or disinterested ticket holders, it's kind of embarrassing that seats on the 50 yard line are now available for a little more than TEN DOLLARS!!!

In conclusion . . . This rather interesting complaint aimed at Jackson County could soon generate buzz given that local government shouldn't be above market forces and certainly should NOT be involved in fixing prices for a product that is now being offered at an embarrassingly discounted rate.

DEVELOPING . . .

  2. I thought Chiefs set price for parking and got to keep ALL the money.

  3. Here's the fix:

    STAY HOME

    Spend your money elsewhere.

Tailgate in your driveway or go to a park with your friends and have a BBQ.

Let the empty seats/parking spaces/concessions cash boxes and the deafening silence speak to Hunt and the County.

GIVE THEM NOT ONE DIME FOR THE REST OF THIS SEASON OR NEXT!

  4. Real estate costs money. Good thing they built the stadia near Independence rather than downtown!

  5. 7:01 am is exactly right. If you vote with your pocketbook they will eventually get the message or go to some other town to bilk and embarrass.

They have been a bunch of losers since 1971 when they literally took a dive against the Raiders.

  6. Mornin BiRon. You know what time it is? Thats right. It is a STFU Thirty.

  7. Drive past the stadium around 11 PM after a game and you will see the cost of cleaning up from tailgating. I have never witnessed how much crap in the form of debris, hot charcoal, and broken glass, can accumulate from the pigs that set up shop in the lot. I sure as hell would not allow anyone to do that in my driveway for $27.

However, the Chiefs do suck. Just two separate issues.

  8. I wouldn't pay ten bucks for a ticket to the locker room of these losers. Twenty seven dollars for a parking ticket just ain't happening either. The Chiefs suck, stink and any other words you'd like to use. Piss on em!!!!!

The teams do not do that clean up, WE pay for THAT too.

Katie Shields did a "Hell of a Job" negotiating with the teams, because they still operate under that old contract. And how about that Sports Authority?

  14. Clark Hunt runs a heavily Tax Subsidised business that consistanly produces an inferior product.

Even when that product is superior (The 90's.), the efficacy of that product, in terms of it's economic viability, as relates to the local economy (Jobs, products, sales, et al.) is highly questionable.

    http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/politicians-team-owners-snooker-sports-fans-taxpayers

While the emotional attatchment that leads to affective decisions at City Hall and the ballot box are understandable, the actual facts concerning benefits to a given city, should be reviewed by all before any comittment to said team is made.

I personally have an emotional attatchment to the Chiefs and think it is worth it to keep them. Tony obviously does not.

The facts, especially in light of how this product comes to market over the last decade or so, would leave me in an untennalbe position trying to defend the cost of this team to we taxpayers.

    Tony is right.

Either way, changes in this organzation should be sweeping, and Mr. Hunts parsimonious, pathetic, pecuniary probes up all of our asses each year in search of more coin of the realm, should stand down in the face of such unambiguated failure.

Kansas City's rotten luck continues, as there is no QB in the draft who even vaguel approaches Andrew Luck or RGIII. I don't think Barkley or Smith can even play to the level of Ryan Tannehill.

The Chiefs will be forced to give up the farm for Matt Flynn (Back Up QB Seattle) and Mr. Hunt's penurious habits in the recent past, will continue to haunt him and his fans, for years to come.

Even with a new GM and Bill Cowher (If he came), the outlook is pretty grim for the next 24 months.

    That should make Tony's day.

We are all here to serve and enrich the mighty Hunt family. I have spent 300 years on the county legislature to do just that, which made it possible for me to buy an estate in Mexico so I can blow this town the first time it gets chilly. Sure I tell people the money came from my PR firm, but we all know where the bookings really came from. I mean, have I ever been a communicator? LOL

Any quarterback that you place behind that rotten excuse for an offensive line will be ground up like hog trimmings. Our backfield is a kill zone.

  19. Tell Skippy to lower the parking lot prices and hand the tailgators a broom and trash can on wheels to clean up their own damn mess or go to jail.

Real simple if you are pig that won't clean up after yourself then you can go to the Jaco pig pen for a few nights.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think Tony should have linked to the White Trash couple having sex in the Arrowhead Parking Lot to illustrate just what swine leaves those messes after tailgating.

The clean up should be the responsibility of the teams. It is their profit-making event that makes the mess, so they should pay the expense of the clean up.

  21. Well in my book of ideas no professional sports team of any kind should be allowed to recieve any taxpayers money. They can either build their own stadium or pay the city fair market rent for using the stadium. A professional sports team is a business same as running a mom and pop diner it's just mom and pop don't get any help whats so ever from the city.

Time to cut the purse stings make it a federal law no taxpayer money anymore. Make them figure out how to get you to come see a ball game. It isn't fair to make all pay so a few can enjoy crap football.

  25. There shouldn't be any emotional attachments left for the Chiefs. They're LOSERS and have been LOSERS for decades now. What good are they? Are ya proud of em?? For what? They are just a drain on the taxpayers and a pimple on the prick of progress, here in Kansas City. Worthless is what the Kansas City Chiefs are, WORTHLESS.

Flat-out, this is a rip-off for the taxpayers of Jackson
County, who are being asked to bear the regressive tax burden for a joint private project
that benefits the fans of the Chiefs and Royals throughout the KC metropolitan region.

  27. Kick the losers out of town. Quit giving them millions of dollars in Taxes and maybe they will learn to work for a living.

  29. There's always and Kansas City "gotcha."

  30. Superdave, I agree with you except for the federal law part. We don't need any more federal laws. We need citizens to hold local pols accountable and vote at the polls, with their feet, with petitions for recall and whatever else they've got. Quit voting for tax increases and subsidies for pro sports. Demand recalls on the subsidies in place. If sports team owners aren't willing to put up their money to fully pay for the team, why should we as taxpayers cover the gap?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree federal law might not be the answer but something somewhere to stop this idiot payout of taxpayers dollars.
