TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY EASTSIDE POLITICAL LEADERSHIP SEARCH FOR A CANDIDATE TO CHALLENGE PASTOR BROOKS!!!

Throughout Kansas City frustration with the City Council seems to be the order of the day.

The current slate of elected leaders might be more united and supportive one another but their camaraderie hasn't translated into much progress for Kansas City neighborhoods.

In fact, dissatisfaction with City Council seems to be a common theme in every district.

To wit . . .

CHECK OUT THE LATEST WORD REGARDING WHAT COULD BE A CHALLENGE TO COUNCILMAN AND PASTOR BROOKS FROM AN EXCELLENT EASTSIDE TIPSTER AND POLITICAL INSIDER!!!

As elections get closer, it's important for 5th District residents to take note of this criticism and its implications:

Check it:

"Councilman Brooks has been a major disappointment and totally ineffective. At this point he has no accomplishments. If we can identify a good candidate we will challenge him. He spends a lot of time whining about the last election . . . He's still angry that many of us in the Urban Summit and Freedom Inc supported Ken Bacchus. That was an easy choice because Bacchus had served 2 successful terms on the council, knows housing & economic development, and our community needed expertise in those areas on the council after the failures & deficiencies of Sharon Sanders Brooks, Melba Curls and Terry Riley. We don't understand why he's still upset over the last election. He won. He seems to be a sore winner who lacks the character to be magnanimous in victory. So far he is a cipher on the council having achieved little for his constituents. Hopefully, there will be some accountability, ala Sharon Sanders Brooks and Sandra McFadden Weaver, both of whom were thrown out after 1 term of doing nothing."

In fairness, I'll wait for anybody who can tell me ANYTHING that Councilman Brooks has accomplished during his tenure . . . But I won't hold my breath.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. Is he even going to bother to run again or does he expect to be appointed?

  2. "Councilman Brooks has been a major disappointment and totally ineffective. At this point he has no accomplishments."

This is true of most of the city council especially including John Sharp. Are they singling out Brooks because he is black?

  3. Is this more bullshit for Urban Scummit? Their leaders are all money sucking vampires whose only accomplishment is duping the Black voter into thinking they are effective. I don't live in the 5th District but I still have faith in Mr. Brooks.

Melba Curls continues to be elected despite speculation that she has trouble reading. The whole lot is ineffective and Freedom Inc./Urban Summit has run its course with a bunch of misfits who are in and out of prison, disbarred and control freaks. Move on people.

Until many of the old folks realize that young people want nothing to do with the old leadership and their way of thinking the Third & Fifth District will continue to bleed homeowners and investment. Enjoy your money you blood sucking leaches!

  4. More infighting over nothing. Less focus on job creation which none of the people listed in this news story know anything about. More focus on who controls the money and public policy all while the little guy continues to hope for change and forward thinkers. Apparently, Kansas City isn't home to the forward thinker.

  5. Lets hear it for the buck dancin shines and minstrels pretending to be for the community but pocketing the money given them to help the community.

And really you applaud them by supporting and reelecting these grifters to go a head and give em a hand at their success at your expense.

  6. The press release inadvertently spells out the problem that has plagued the easy side "for ever". All that the author(s) seem to consider is how much treasure makes it home to the east side. No one seems to understand that throwing cash at a problem does nothing to solve it. I know nothing of Brookes' accomplishments at city hall but unless he and the rest of the East side people are working to make their part of town attractive to business development, it will remain one giant plantation.

  7. Grifters seek more effective Grifters.

  8. Yeah KC has its very own style of Grifterfication. Quiet amazing to see how people just keep falling for the same ole con.

And some might be dumb enough to wonder why almost all in KC is dysfuckinfunctional.

  9. Councilman Brooks cannot be controlled by the money suckers. The suckers will counter anyone who won't follow their orders and money-seeking requests - School Board, political candidates, and the list goes on and on.

  10. I think 11:40 read my mind. Money attracts MORE money. Obvious the money interests aren't interested in throwing good money into the ghetto... they'll give money to the city where people with money might go to spend some of it. Like downtown. or the Kaufmann center. Or Johnson County.

The first thing the black community needs to do is teach their young people to quit killing each other...no one wants to be around that culture. And paint their houses and clean up their yards. Put their wayward and idle teen kids to work doing those things.

Even if it doesn't draw money from the gumment and business, it should make them feel better about themselves. And then others will feel better about THEM!

  11. Brooks has done nothing and continues to do nothing. He is rarely at City Hall and bitches about it when he is. He's lazy and none too smart. But his council salary did enable him to lease a bright shiny new Lexus (the big expensive model)! How many preachers drive a car like that?

  12. Plus I hear he is trying to put his little soft dick in every woman who he can.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Seems like he hates the job, hates being around people, going to events, and talking about anything. Not a good person to be a politician. Just quit, your heart is not in it.

  14. I do not share the sentiment about Councilman Brooks, Councilwoman Curls, former Councilwoman Sharon Saunders Brooks, nor former councilman Terry Riley. Sometimes it is impossible to make any real move forward with folk in the urban core who do not want to be accountable for anything and make positive moves. Council people should not have to coddle us in every facet of our lives on building, upkeep and maintaining our real estate properties. People make up neighborhoods. We have investors who buy and lease to section 8 recipients and other economically deprived individuals who may not know the importance or benefit of house values...and may not have any real interest in knowing. These are the individuals who do not have a genuine interest in the preservation of our neighborhoods. Only the owners have a real stake in our neighborhoods. Neighborhoods cannot deterioriate without assistance from those who live in them. We must become more responsible and accountable for our neighborhoods... Hubby and I have done our part. Stop blaming the council people! S. Collins, 5th District resident.

  17. Will someone guess who wrote the lead statement or letter trying to bring down Rev. Brooks?

  18. Throw out all the bums. Start with this guy and work your way to Wagner.

  19. Agree with S. Collins on Sharon Brooks. She was a solid Councilwoman. She was up against tons of evildoers. Dont know about McFadden. Terry will be forever known for Citadel and that's no good.

  20. Sharon was a mean nasty racist. She WAS an evildoer. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
