KANSAS CITY MARKS ONE YEAR OF K-PAC

Expect NOTHING but mainstream media celebration.
Example . . .
KSHB: "Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. In just that short time, it's become one of the flagship attractions in Kansas City."
Meanwhile TKC would like to highlight everything wrong with the place . . .
K-PAC is the anchor for Downtown Gentrification.
Hammocks are only an artistic achievement to hipsters.
No mention of broken windows and suspect Ernest T. Bass
The ancient Egyptians already perfected monuments to rich people.
Also, K-PAC could be a UFO Magnet . . . Ya never know.
Or all these reasons and so many more (along with the fact I've never been in the place) . . . There's no reason to celebrate K-PAC . . . In fact, it only provides another instance to lament Kansas City's misplaced priorities.

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is a monument to the self-indulgence of the leisure class.
Hundreds of millions of private AND PUBLIC funds.
Meanwhile, how many middle-class and working class people can afford to go there?
We all know the answer. And that's the way the "patrons" want it.
Bravo.
with attitudes like that and what tony exemplifies on a regular basis, NOTHING of any substance would EVER get built.
This center wasn't built for the uneducated, unrefined, useless eaters, the unwashed, etc. How smart does a person need to be to figure that out?
Flagship? Yeah like KC is the Paris of America.
What a bunch of ignorant haters. If people like you all and Tony were in charge, we'd be living in mud huts.
it's not actually that price-y. I'm WAY below a middle-class income and managed to attend 3 operas and 3 ballets last season - and I've got tickets to Madame Butterfly next week. All depends on where/how you want to spend your money
Hey fuck you mud hut haters.
My mud hut is kick ass and the bitches love to come see me there.
Least when you throw a rock at my place it just bounces off.
what do ya bet that virtually every 'patron' will vote for the billionaire?
hey, rocket scientist, the hammocks weren't at KPAC
for starters
4:54 and 5:56 above are right
