TONIGHT KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES HELD HANDS AND SPOKE TO THE MASSIVE CROWD GATHERED ON THE PLAZA TO PROTEST THE SHOOTING DEATH OF TRAYVON MARTIN!!!
Unfortunately, the PA system was fudged and not many people could hear what the Mayor was saying . . . What I heard was a call to unity and as The Mayor asked the crowd to hold hands he noted that Black and White and people of all kinds of belief systems were joined together by similar pulses and body temperatures.
It was really quite touching . . . Sadly, we did not get to sing Kumbaya.
The Mayor asked . . . "Why is it only in these tragic circumstances that we come together?" Still, he complimented the crowd on their concern for social justice.
There was a bit of a mention of violence here in KC . . . But like I said. Not many people could hear what he was saying.
Nevertheless, at one of the biggest protests of this year . . . Once again Mayor Sly stole the show.
Meanwhile . . . "On 3/26 at 4:30 PM officers were dispatched to 80th and Brooklyn on a reported shooting. When officers arrived they found an adult man suffering from probable gun shot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital were he was pronounced dead. The suspect is a black male who was last seen eastbound on foot. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the TIPS Hotline."
