Chief Forté makes news tonight with this blog post:
A police department that reflects the community
Here's the money quote:
"We have fantastic officers who come from all types of different backgrounds. But having more police who look like the residents of Kansas City shows we desire a police department that actually reflects the community we serve and that we respect all cultures."
There's some great info in the post related to demographic breakdowns of the KCPD along with encouragement for qualified applicants from every demographic group. Tonight, Chief Forté makes a great deal of progress on a long running concern for the KCPD.
DEVELOPING . . .
Interesting.
ReplyDeleteIs it because most of the black and Hispanic members of the community are criminals?
ReplyDeleteI want more asian cops and karate chops.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, look what more diversity has done for 64130 . . .
ReplyDeleteare we asking for more murders? That would certainly reflect our community.
ReplyDeleteHere's an idea why don't you stop the record Homicides, rather than worrying about diversity? Is that not what a police department is suppose to do?
ReplyDeleteCops are having new uniforms designed by South Pole. Cop cars are being retro-fitted with hydraulics. New carry gun will be a stolen Glock 9mm.
ReplyDeletelol.
ReplyDeleteThose gang of eight guys, wil they let a white boy in?
ReplyDeleteway to go chuck agree 100 per cent and then they talk about diversity the only diversity in the pd is if you are black and then you cant do any wrong if the gang of 8 take care of you. but letting a white boy in is out of the question
ReplyDeleteThe KCPD has always been diverse if you count lesbians.
ReplyDeleteThe KCPD has always been diverse if you count lesbians.
ReplyDeleteThere goes the neighborhood. A once-great police department will soon resemble a front porch at 29th and Jarboe on a summer night.
ReplyDeleteSee what happens when you let a monkey run the zoo?
Remember the case of the black sergeant who was involved in the "alleged" robbery in Raytown? The black sergeant that Forte put back to work five minutes after he became chief. Word is that the sergeant is telling other black officers "don't worry about it, whitey don't run this place any more, we do." Is that what Forte means by reflecting the community? Turn a blind eye to bad behavior and keep getting a government check?
ReplyDeleteHe should be in jail. They simply moved him to South Patrol and swept it under the rug.
DeleteOh my god. We have prisons that "reflect the community." Do we need police to reflect the community too? Isnt the job of the police to enforce laws, not one man's narrow minded idea of diversity? We have a black mayor, a black president, a black police chief and people want to whine about diversity? When isnt it black enough?
ReplyDeleteHow about getting the best people for the job? Is that too much to ask?
8:08am,
ReplyDeletePlease elaborate...
11:36am is right on the money.
ReplyDeleteWow. More race issues at kcpd . We all see how well the black bosses are doing. Fucking joke
ReplyDeleteThey will promote more stupid mother fuckers based only on their race. The department already has enough idiots who move up the chain not due to merit but solely because if their skin color.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we strive to have the best officers rather than judging by skin color? I have a dream.
