A message labeled Kobach and Kansas Secretary Of State was recently sent this way and my world stopped for just a moment.
And then I got to thinking . . .

However, when a beefcake image of (what looks to be) Kansas Secretary Of State Kris Kobach showed up in a recent message. I couldn't wait to post it so that we could offer a bit of parity.
It gets even better . . .
ALONG WITH THE SESSY PHOTO . . . A MESSAGE TO TKC FROM A WOMAN CLAIMING TO BE A FORMER KRIS KOBACH LOVER FROM LONG AGO OFFERS AN IMPORTANT INSIGHT INTO THE EARLY DAYS OF THE DUDE WHO IS NOW THE KANSAS SECRETARY OF STATE!!!
According to this note, completely unverified and sent from an anony source that I'll never reveal, Mr. Kobach wasn't always a brilliant legal scholar fighting against undocumented brown people yearning to breathe free . . . Nope, he sounds like kind of a goofball.
Check this message from an ALLEGED former love of Mr. Kobach sent to TKC:
"I dated Kris for about a year in law school. Back then, he was an enthusiastic libertarian rather than nativist. However, he was probably more ignorant about race than anyone I met in law school. I recall eating dinner with his family in Topeka, where he grew-up on a nearly all-white development surrounding a man-made lake. His father (Bill) and sister started talking about the new neighbors, some "orientals" who had moved in close by. SHE started making cartoonish faces stretching her eyelids up and down and talking in her idea of an "oriental" voice: "O we go eat you dog" etc etc. Kris sat there smiling, as if this was normal. Then SHE cracked that some neighborhood dogs had already gone missing. Bill then said that he'd better be careful with his German short-hair pointer and that maybe it was time that he put in a virtual electric fence to keep the dog inside the yard. Then Kris chimed in, asking why didn't they just set the virtual fence around the new neighbors' yard instead?" Later, when I told Kris that I thought the conversation was offensive, and he was baffled, and said, "Why? It's just a joke."
"On another occasion shortly before graduation, Kris told me about two of his classmates, Eric and Michelle. He explained that Eric was very serious about dating Michelle, but that his family had not met her yet. The introduction was going to be a big deal because Eric's family was from Iowa and they were very conservative, whereas Michelle, was . . . : "a mulatto." I was surprised and told him that people don't use the term "mulatto" anymore. But Kris was adamant that it was perfectly appropriate to refer to a woman of color in this way. I asked whether he would still use the term, "colored" to refer to an African American, and he thought about it and said that he usually did not but that "colored" was indeed an acceptable term. His argument was that the NAACP was still in existence, so obviously it was an approved term. I asked why he didn't just call Michelle a "quadroon" or an "octoroon"? Kris answered that it wouldn't make sense for him to use those terms because they were "too precise." He said that he really didn't know how much "African blood" was in Michelle. But it was obvious from looking at Michelle that she was not completely Caucasian, and hence, a "mulatto." I asked whether it was cool to use the term "octoroon" if he could be sure that the person was precisely 1/8 black and 7/8 white and he said, "Sure, but you can't usually tell that about a person."
"It was odd to me that someone who had been through Harvard, Oxford, and now Yale, could manage to be so ignorant on these matters, and even more disturbing, to be unwilling to consider that there might be an alternative view. Back then, I just he was just kind of thick, but now he's also terrifying."

There's no allegation of wrongdoing in the e-mail . . . Just ignorance. Some might even say it's just ignorance of political correctness.
Still, I think it's important to take this lady at her word . . . And remain thankful that all former TKC loves have wiped me from their memory and moved on to more productive and better relationships that probably don't involve as much crying and moist towelettes.
There was no comment on this story from The Office Of The Kansas Secretary Of State but that's probably because I was giggling so much when I made the call. I'm also pretty sure they don't deliver pizzas.
As Mr. Kobach attempts to change the way Kansans can vote . . . And endorses Presidential Candidates. It's important to understand where he's coming from . . .

And the number one mistake you are making is that you're ascribing a motive to statistical information without any review of the evidence. In other words, you're inventing facts to suit your political agenda. It happens all the time on the Internet. However you seem convinced that your theories have some basis in statistical information. If someone simply used Google to verify your claims they would find that your posts are the only form of documentation to support your suppositions.
Chuck, you are internet poster we could classify as a disinformation agent. I won't guess at your motives but I will challenge you to find one shred of evidence which can support your theory about the motivation behind interracial rapes.

The point was to provide some insight into the racial attitudes and, more importantly, the myopic reasoning powers of a man who has extraordinary power over the racial policies in this country. I'd be shocked if Kobach had any salacious scandal in his background. But a man who, when confronted with contrary evidence, bull-headedly argues for the use of antiquated terms like "mulatto" and "quadroon" could well be employing the same flawed reasoning in his current agenda. It was food for thought. And the comments were certainly not made during personal & private moments. If some ex- from 15 years ago was out for blood, I suspect she could have come up with something a bit more lurid.
