The Independence Police is attempting to identify the persons shown in the attached photos. It is believed the men may have knowledge of a shooting that occurred in a local shopping mall on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at around 4:30 p.m.
If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of these individuals, or any information about the fore mentioned shooting, please call the Independence Police Department Investigations Unit at 816-325-7330 or the TIPS- Hotline at 474-8477.

I'm just your completely ordinary Olathe soccer mom...was at Oak park mall early in the evening on a Saturday back in October with my 2 kids, under 10. We passed a huge group of loud black girls, and my son must have given them a funny look because we were immediately followed down most of the mall by a bunch of them saying things like "you better TRAIN that chil' not to look at us" and "you watch what you lookin' little boy!" It was pretty much terrifying, they were right on our backs a couple times and since there was no security to be found I really didn't know what to do. We went to Mrs Fields in the food court and after I asked the lady behind the counter loudly to please call security, and she picked up a phone, then they finally backed off. We haven't been back there since, even during Christmas shopping season. One attack of LaQuisha & the Niglets was enough for us!

Chuck, I was trying to make a point, which I think you more or less get. If the majority of poor people are black then most of the criminals are black, & if most of the poor people are white, then most of the criminals are white.
ReplyDeleteIts about poverty & guns. Poor people have no power, & like Billy the Kid, they've discovered that the gun gives them a kind of respect. (Though I think they miss the point that the gun doesn't give them the kind of respect that they really want.)
There is no quick fix, but I think that the long term solution is to encourage new leadership in the poorest part of town (in Kansas City, that's the Black part of town.)
The violence is worse in Kansas City, then it should be, all things considered. I think this is because the poorest people are segregated into one section & that race confuses the issue. I think that the old guard makes it worse by focusing on race instead of the real issue which is poverty. (Mr. Ellington gets this, which is why he is so important.)
We're the same age Chuck. Do you remember the 'hair wars'? Do you remember how your parents felt about rock & roll? Its the same with hip/hop.

I have read EVERYTHING on Billy The Kid and the Lincloln County War. Its actually so fuckin cool.

ReplyDeleteI think the mall shooting and other violent incidents are always a tool for the racists to justify their racism towards blacks when it does nothing but hurt everyone in general. I think the mall shooting was stupid, crazy, and insane all over because a black male made an inappropriate comment to a white girl and her boyfriend didnt like it and then they started fighting and then a shooting happens afterward. I believe that this only hurts the black community in general when things like this happen and we must remember that there are good and bad in every race of people. I believe those racists tend to glorify moments like these but I know that if the shooter where a white male and a black girl and her boyfriend where shot would there be the same racial uproar? Probably so but not as much as if the victims where white. We must teach some of our black males and females that the mall is a public place and you cant go in there disrespecting customers and breaking all the rules and pretend you have the right to go in the mall. Everyone no matter what race they are are entitled to protection of their rights as customers to shop in a safe environment at any shopping mall. This kind of nonsense has got to stop and the decent blacks who shop at the mall there and other malls are just as sick of the violence as whites or anyone else who goes to the mall!
