One source listens to the police scanners and was surprised not to see the local news pick up the story of Saturday Night Plaza Fighting that sounded like A MASSIVE BRAWL . . . Another AWESOME TKC TIPSTER closer to the scene notes a similar Plaza ruckus and quickly moving fights among the roving bands of teenagers at the area late nights have become Plaza tradition. It's not too surprising but something that the locals should certainly consider . . .

I was down there, the kids were at it again. The place looked like crap, it was centered around the theater.

There's an entitlement I could see we slowly do away with. Cut those checks backa bout 30 percent and you'd see women marrying. I think the government has made it too easy for them to get by by getting pregnant and raising children without husbands.
Take away the money and they'll either keep their legs together or welcome their childrens' fathers into the house... where things will be much better for all.

It is not the duty or the place of this city and it's tax payers to guide and provide for every kid who was born a minority. It's the responsibility of the Parents, or as evedinced by Chucks response, Parent.

ReplyDeleteI was on the Plaza Saturday night leaving a late dinner and saw about 300 kids running round Mill Creek Park and fighting. KCPD got there very quick, dispersed the crowd with what looked like pepper spray. All the kids then left the plaza. Seemed effective to me.

KCPD stinks. A few year ago they had neighborhood community web stats so you could tell in your community where the crime was. It worked well while it was there. BUT, That's all gone now. Now there's nothing. They have a Crime map but it's so slow to load I gave up. And it's based in some company in California not KC so that might explain the slow load. But it still stinks.
