DAMN IT TO HELL!!! KANSAS CITY SUSPENDS LOS ALAMOS LIQUOR LICENSE!!!

What a pain in the ass . . . In very real terms, this means I'm going to have to walk down to the Boulevard in order get a sixer . . . Also, I'm pretty sure this is nothing more than an instance of the new gentry picking on small biz for their self-and-sorta-racist-demographic-interests . . . Given that it should be illegal for the Bluebird to charge $8 for oatmeal.

WHITE PEOPLE WHO WANT LATINO STREET CRED . . . GO BUY SOMETHING FROM LOS ALAMOS DURING THIS RATHER UNJUST CITY HALL/NEW GENTRY BACKLASH!!!

Anyhoo . . . Los Alamos has the best breakfast burritos on the Westside . . . So think about helping them out during their hard time and realize that City Hall is busy helping to gentrify yet another part of Kansas City rather than simply letting small biz compete.

Here's the news release . .

City suspends liquor license of Los Alamos Market y Cocina for three days

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, and Los Alamos Market y Cocina, a convenience store, have agreed to a three-day suspension of the store's liquor license. Los Alamos Market y Cocina is located at 1667 Summit St.

The suspension will begin March 22 at 6 a.m. and end March 25 at 1:30 a.m. The suspension is the result of multiple violations of charging a fee to customers and giving them samples of alcohol to taste, which is a City ordinance violation. During the suspension, the business will remain open but alcoholic beverages will not be sold.

As a condition of the suspension, the managing officer of Los Alamos Market y Cocina has agreed to provide education, training and instruction to store employees about City ordinances.

For more information about this suspension, call Gary Majors, manager of Regulated Industries Division

  2. Tony, being a 'person of color', thinks the same rules that should be suspended for illegal aliens, should also be rules suspended from the liquor division.

Typical of Mexicans... thinking the laws of America should excempt Mexicans.

When will they realize that the US isn't Mexico where for a price, gom'ment will look the other way?

Go back go back go back. Else shut up and follow American rules!

  3. I don't drink so I really don't care about the liquor license suspension.

But, a breakfast burrito sounds good.

I'll be there in the morning to get one.

  4. One day I bought my Mexican bricklayers lunch and that's where they took me.

    It was delicious.

And I think they even put REAL dog meat in my burrito (instead of the kind with artificial fillers found in many lower-class, authentic Mexican restaurants).

    Aye Chihuahua!!

  5. I wish they would use dog meat from some of the mutts you have running around the West side. Don't the wets have animal control?

  6. Customers will have to suffer through three days of the shakes I guess.

  7. I'm sorry, but I've heard Tony on the radio. hes' pretty Americanized. I don't see the guy as a 'person of color'.

I think his perception is his own and I only conclude he takes it on so to excuse that he lives in his mom's basement.

He's got talent. He's just lazy and self-indulgent. That's not a racial trait. But "People of color" do like to use their race to excuse their lack of work ethic. Tee is a testament to how his mom brought him up. Where's his DAD? What's his name? What's her name?

  8. You are ignorant Radio man. A person of color doesn't have to sound like your stereotypes.

    Idiot.

  9. Fuck multiculturalism and fuck diverstiy.

  10. RAdioman has a hard on for Tony!
No, Tony will not bring you home to meet the family.

  11. I'm not ignorant. I know that more than anything else, an accent free speaking voice does more to eliminate racial descrimination than anything else.

Tony speaks as a native. He would be treated with a native if he just didn't see himself as something OTHER than a native.

The best thing foreigners can do is to SOUND like a native if they want acceptance.

  12. Chuck for one is apparently finished celebrating diversity.

  13. You are full of it, Radioman. Tony can be as American as apple pie and still be discriminated against because he LOOKS like a hispanic. It's about the color of the skin. People of all colors, who have been in the USA for generations, are treated as less than equal every day of the week. Idiot.

  14. Kansas City killing one business at a time.

  15. Give me a break. People of "color" often times have it MUCH easier BECAUSE they live in the USA. Where else can you sneak into a country and get a job, a drivers license, welfare, credit cards, SUBSIDIZED RENT or a loan to buy a house, free education, free health care, the right to carry your country's flag while you protest that you don't get enough respect and be able to vote?
