  2. Duh. You can't give out tickets for homicides. If they could, their clearance would be much higher.

  3. What do you expect? Cops come in every morning get a cup of coffee and read the newspaper for two hours. The sit around and chit chat with their buddies. How you going to solve crime with a protocol like that?

  4. Let's see the Police Board finally notices the murder rate!
WOW ! I wonder where they were when the rest of citizens of Kansas City were reading Headlines like the following?

    1) Kansas City, MO police officer in the Internal Affairs division was cited with careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol while crashing police car.

    2) KCPD Detention Officer Charged With Promoting Prostitution.

    3) Former KCPD Officer Holmes Awarded $6.5 Million In Lawsuit for race discrimination, whistle blowing and breach of contract.

    4) The Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department has launched an investigation into the hiring practices of the Kansas City Police

    5) 25-Year Police Veteran Charged with Sexual Assault

    6) KCPD deploys plain-clothes police throughout downtown in an effort to crack down on jaywalkers during NAACP convention.

I Think theres a problem with the KCPD management.

  5. The responsibility lies on the shoulders of the community that harbors the culture of senseless thug violence. What is the point of making excuses for this tkc? Really?

Nope, it's the fault of the police that young (disproportionately black) thugs are killing each other and others, nearly every damn day in Kansas City. Yep, it's KCPD's fault. Let's continue to ignore the elephant in the room which is rampant violence perpetuated in a staggering disproportionate amount by urban (and suburban) African American Males.

I've got a feeling that as this thug violence becomes more common in suburban areas not accustom to it there will be action taken by the citizens. There are a lot of CCW holders out there who tired of the bull shit. They know that the police can't be everywhere at once to protect them and are ready to protect their families and themselves. Just wait and see. Then, it will still be someone else's fault that these d-bag thugs are getting lit up by the citizenry.

  6. Your right Kansas City is a crappy community to live in, that's why all the businesses are moving to Kansas and elsewhere along with the job opportunities.

  8. 11:27 is dead on.

However, I did read last week Mr. Kostar's reccomendatons, based on his claim of success in KCK.

He said there were programs and initiatives in place that, wait for it, ACTUALLY WORKED.

Anyway, it sounded good, and the guy sounds serious.

If in fact, there is a template to follow, that will reduce not only the actual killings, but will create a relationship between the inner city and the KCPD, fuck it, lets do it.

His ideas sounded pretty good, and he had some info to back up his hoped for results.

  9. Build more buildings can solve it

  10. Yeah, KCMO really has nothing to lose so trying Kostar's suggestions couldn't hurt. Hopefully, it may help some. Don't get me wrong, I (poster 11.27 a.m.) don't take any pleasure in all of the killing, chaos, etc. I'd love nothing more than to see KC's black community (as a whole) get it together and somehow get the youth (mostly) in check and stop some of the violence. Also, I do know or acknowledge that a huge segment of KC's black community are law abiding, good people...I do get that. I just feel that passing the buck and playing the blame game has gotten the whole thug issue exactly no where. P.S. I grew up in the inner city and am all too familiar with the reality of this problem. Anyhow, yeah hopefully the Kostar thing will make a dent.
