Eric Bowers Interview On AWESOME Photos Of The Kauffman Performing Arts Center

The PAC is taking a lot more tax money than initially anticipated (i.e. parking lot and so much more) and people hope it will bring forth a wave of gentrification . . . Nevertheless, photos by TKC Fave Eric Bowers define the majestic look of the place that will create so many other empty venues in Downtown Kansas City.

The KCUR NPR Interview, obviously, has a far less critical perspective that focuses more on Bowers and his obvious talent.

  1. If you haven't seen the inside yet Tony, OMG, it is like nothing else in the world. I can't speak to the incentives, but we will have a 'one of a kind' in KC and that's a great thing.

  5. WHAT venues will be empty? The Folly Theatre? The Harriman Series is locked in there. The Midland does shows which will not be suitable for the Performing Arts Center. The Music Hall and Municipal Auditorium have bookings for theatre, athletics and events tied to the multitude of conventions that come through town.
The parking lot will be shared revenue for the City and the PAC; the city will use the space during the day and on event nights, the spaces will be money makers (if that's your big concern) for the city.
If you don't care for classical music, dance, and opera, fine, but please don't insult those of us who are offering financial and moral support to the Center, and who are looking forward to the opening of a world-class center in the heart of Kansas City.
