Kansas City Mayoral campaigns will be in full swing very soon. In the meantime the candidates for Mayor are already taking lunches, talking to reporters and making moves.
TKC was proud to pretty much announce Mike Burke's candidacy last year.
By all accounts he's a good guy.
He's a Lawyer.
He has Northland roots.
And even better in terms of a TKC EXCLUSIVE (!!!) . . .
RUMOR HAS IT THE ALVIN BROOKS IS READY TO GIVE HIS ENDORSEMENT TO MIKE BURKE!!!
So, obviously that means everybody on the Eastside has to vote for him. Right?
If he wins, which is a lot more likely than anyone thinks . . . Of course, I'm taking full credit for his victory.
Didn't a post in an earlier thread say that Beth should be the next Mayor?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you talk about Burke's Renaisance North project that took 10s of Millions of $s from the City and was never built. Money that could have gone to 39th and Prospect. How much money has his law firm ripped from the City? Mayor Burke, I doubt it.

ReplyDeleteMike will have trouble explaining the legal fees his firm has received from the City (Port Authority and LCRA) over the past several years. Not an easy sell.
ReplyDeleteAll is foir naught if Mike Sanders decides to run (which I think he won't). Al Brooks is one of the community leaders trying to get Sanders in the race. However, I think Sanders is too smart to take the job, and then Tony may be right. If Sanders is out, Burke is probably the guy.

ReplyDeleteCheck out the vote talley on the funkhouser-Brooks vote. If Brooks couldn't get the East side to vote for him how can he get us to vote for Mike Burke?

An Alvin Brooks endorsement is a poor man's Jesse Jackson endorsement. It doesn't amount to much nowdays.

ReplyDeleteOne of the best decisions Kansas City can make. While only knowing him for a short amount of time he ceaselessly cares for the community and the citizens of Kansas City. Best choice by far. Vote Mike Burke!
