X-mas is mostly about life's disappointments and it's actually a really great teaching opportunity for the young ones . . . If done properly all of their consumerist fantasies will turn out horribly and they'll be left with only an empty feeling and stuck with their equally malcontent elder family members.
Like it or not the holiday is over and there's no reason we should pretend to be nice to one another . . . Additionally, there's really no justification for enduring the horrible weather with a smile.
Someone else coined this phrase but I'm stealing it because I'm a blogger:
"The only gift is the grind"
It's something cool to say while pretending to work hard . . . Very much like the "Not So Smart with the Money" Mayor who is working a second job while telling everybody he works night and day for this town (when he's not suing).
