"In the press conference, State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick was asked in the first question about accountability. His response was to the effect, Gail McCain Beatty was not very good at her job and she was fired and it is taken care of.
In my mind, if we are going to take more than three years to find illegal activity in a county government, point out numerous state laws violated and millions of dollars wasted--not to mention the pain and suffering that more than 200,000 taxpayers endured for years--and then just say, "We're done."

"When the first part of this audit came out in the spring, I sent an email to the Deputy State Auditor, and told him that it was time to find justice for the people of Jackson County. It didn't happen today."
