Missouri lawmakers are set to begin a special session on redistricting that could dramatically reshape the state’s political boundaries. If the “Missouri First Map” is adopted, the Fourth Congressional District would stretch from downtown Kansas City 233 miles southeast to Big Piney. The proposed Fifth District would extend from Arrowhead Stadium east to Linn County. Critics say the proposal would weaken the voices of Black and urban voters by combining them with rural districts.
