KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE CONVICTED OF POKING!!! JUDGE ORDERS HEAD CHECK!!!

Bad news for 3rd District At-Large Councilman Brandon Ellington today . . . In KCMO municipal court he confronted legal rebuke and a probation order.

For those who don't remember . . .

"Ellington was charged with assault in March after (Freedom Inc. Stalwart) Rodney Bland accused Ellington of poking him in the chest multiple times. It happened while the two were at Soriee Steak & Oyster House in the 18th and Vine District."

An interesting aside . . .

Insiders note that part of the judge's ruling and a (standard) condition of his probation includes a mental health evaluation.

These kind of orders are more commonplace nowadays but mostly reserved for domestic drama.

Councilman Ellington will appeal the decision but the probation and diversion rulings typically stand in muni court.

The open question here . . .

Will Kansas City voters remember this in 18 months?!?

This is Brandon's last term before reaching the council limit . . . An even bigger question will be if his rivals at Freedom, Inc. will be able to find a suitable candidate to challenge him with a citywide rep . . . Rather than just another minister unknown outside of the 3rd District.
