This GOP power move against the will of voters will ensure that private schools will soon be exempt from paying employees more cash . . . The reasoning is to avoid tuition increases and possibly flex on voters demanding more cash.

Missouri House Republicans approve minimum wage exemptions

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - In Jefferson City, the Republican-controlled Missouri House of Representatives voted to exempt private and religious school workers from the state's minimum wage law. The vote was 94 in favor and 53 opposed. Supporters said the future increases would lead to those schools being forced to raise tuition rates and other expenses.

  1. Missouri voters spoke and decided the current federal minimum wage is inadequate. They approve scheduled increases.

    Missouri Republican politicians spoke and said fuck you to voters and decide there shouldn't be a minimum wage at all. They pass a law to overturn the will of the voters and screw working people.
